Freedom of Choice... How long? (Coupon Validity Question)

So we get the nifty Freedom of Choice Coupon. Only that it doesn't say anywhere (not here, not in the email), how long we do have a choice to apply the 30% Off Coupon.
Does anyone have any information about this?.

Well, that's what I believe, too, which is why I have redeemed it straight away (in case it's only valid until the DAZ-guys&girls; file into office... ;-P).
But it would be great if they would actually put the date&time; on there somewhere. I won't post here because I don't want to get this post being deleted for quoting law texts, but all it needs is one trigger-happy laywer customer, who has too much time at hand, and they are going to get problems.

Is it applicable to a 'single item purchase' or is it ' single full basket purchase' please?

It's your next purchase- fill up your cart :) Stacks with summer sizzle tier discounts too.

It also works on PC and PC+ items, you can scoop up a lot of them for $1.10 or so.

I know I've said this before, and I'll probably keep on saying it, but what is the logic behind the "Single Use" restriction? Think about it for a moment: I buy some stuff and use the coupon, then I realize that there were a few other things that I could have bought - but I don't - because the coupon can't be used again!

So that's a lost sale (or at least deferred until the next sale). I don't know, I just don't see it. To me it comes under the category "Putting up Barriers to Buying in front of the customer".

    Obviously I don't have a career in marketing. :(

I was coming to the forums to ask the same question.

I get - I don't like but I get - why DAZ marketing doesn't want to put end dates on sales, but end dates on Coupons are generally a wise idea. Especially as without the date, people could expect it to last for 2-3 days (like most banner sales) and then get really upset tomorrow when the coupon code no longer works.

Yeah, I dunno about cyber-marketing but here in the real world, a coupon with no stated expiry date is considered good as long as the store has product or runs out of coupons. People used to that are most likely expecting digital coupons to work the same way. Something to think about in future, yes?

Well I'm pretty pleased with that. I used the discount to pick up the full West Park range and the Chapter House for an absolute bargain.

    Thanks Jack! :)

The whole idea of uncertainy is to get people in the mindset to buy now. Tormorrow you might be busy, change your mind etc, so clearly the deals are constructed to make you hit the buy button as soon as possible. Likewise the one use only can make people load up the cart with stuff they do not need immediately so as not to miss out on the deal.

Most online retailers do tell you end dates of promotions. its a best practice and helps drive impulse purchase.

Oh crap, one day left, must shop now!

Only time retailers typically leave off an end date is when it last for weeks or even months, because if the end date is too far out it has a negative impact. "Oh i can wait"

I understand that DAZ think that's what it does, but it really doesn't. Because of the staggering complexity of most DAZ sales it can take a long time to even identify what items the voucher can apply to - that slows down the impulse cart-loader and makes it hard for them to be so impulsive. They miss things. Things they might have bought if they had a second chance.

Anyway, there it is. Same old. Same old.

Yeah, I get that. But a coupon isn't actually the same as a sale. And not having an expiration date means that - say - someone is on vacation this week, and they come back on Tuesday to find the coupon in their in-box. But it doesn't work, because it's expired. Except that person has no way to know that, and if they get upset enough, it could cause way more problems than just a stink on the forums. With the expiration date, then the person comes back, says "Well, dang, I missed that one" and life goes on.

DAZ can (and should) change the banner and then they can at least say that the e-mail not having it was in error.

I mean, I actually don't have a horse in this. I can't afford to buy anything until Saturday, so I'm not using the coupon. On the other hand, if the coupon is still good on Saturday, DAZ has a much better chance of actually getting a large purchase out of me on Saturday than the (relatively) small one I currently have planned.

I don't find 30% very attractive when there are 50-70% sales on just about everything if you keep your eyes open. Am I missing something?

It stacks with the PA's that are 46% off and it works on PC items.

It's on the main scrolling banner, so I'd say it's for everyone.
