Import issue – Genesis 8 Figure export to C4D: pupils show as white

VizerVizer Posts: 6
July 2022 in Cinema 4D Discussion

Hi there,

I'm exporting a G8 figure to OBJ and then bringing it into Cinema4D. It looks like everything imports properly – except for the pupils, which appear as white. I can see that all the character's textures have been imported into C4D's texture manager, including the Pupil/Irises/Sclera material – but on the figure itself, it's appearing as white.

Any help greatly appreciated!

There is an outer moisture layer over the eyes, it needs to be set to be tansparent or transmissive (try a water material, perhaps).

The easiest solution is just to check "transparent" on the main shader page, but a water or other transparent material will work as well. Also, you need to do this to both cornea and eyemoisture (the ones that are solid white in your screenshot).

Thank you Richard and Gordig for pointing me in the right direction.

I just tried making the Eye Moisture material fully transparent, but it did not fix the issue. However, when I made the Cornea material transparent, the Irises and Pupils materials finally became visible.

Hopefully this will help out anyone else encounterin the same issue.
