Pressing a face against a window

PP Posts: 36

Hi all,

Sorry for my poor english,. I was wondering if it's possible to have a character with his face against a windows, I'm thinking of a scene  when someone is looking through the windows and his nose must be a bit made flatten by the glass, I don't know how this could work and I'm also struggling to find the right way to ask the question !! :-)

Thanks in advance for your ideas,

I do not know any morph pack that can do that (but maybe some exist).

You can try to force a deformation on the face

    - by adding a smoothing modifier to the figure and slowly pushing her face on a window.

    - by using a dformer. This will let you define some weight maps so that the nose is less deformed than the lips, for instance.

In either case, I doubt that the results will be excellent, but the experiment are easy and fast.

Other wise, you can try to do the deformation yourself in a modelling program like hexagon or blender, but it is more complex.

You would probably need to use a combination of a dformer and smoothing modifier.

The dformer could get the nose to be somewhat flattened/not pointy, and the smoothing modifier could add the final flatness.

The issue with smoothing modifiers alone is that if the object gets too far into the collision object, it will poke through. With a nose, to get a decent squish, you would have to go far enough that the tip would end up poking through the glass even while the rest of the skin squishes.

Famous last words: That could be done easily with a morph.

For which figure did you want one.

Thanks for the reply. I'd apply this for G8M.

Okay, rendering something first then I'll give it a go.

It is uploaded to Renderosity. I expect it will be approved within 24 - 48 hours, sometimes much faster :-)

Promos show the "Flat Face 1 - nose morph" with and without the use of another morph, -100% Lips Pucker Pressed. So yes, it will play nice with some of the other available morphs. I did not test it with everything ;-)  Also works on a child figure [that's a Growing Up preset used in the promo].

n.b. About 90% works well, it can be dialed in a little more - or less - of course.

@catherine3678ab:  Is this still available on Renderosity?  I tried searching "flat face" but don't see anything
