Can't remove items from scene ...

Here's a problem I've never experienced ...
Somehow, everything in my scene duplicated itself and got saved that way. So, naturally, I started trying to remove the duplicate items. Through process of elimination, I figured out that I could remove every duplicate except for two Beautiful Bends m4 figures. Every time I try, Daz freezes.
When I removed each of the other duplicated items, I was able to resave the file so that the next time it froze and I had to re-open, I had one less thing to remove.
So has anyone had this problem?
It doesn't seem to hinder my ability to drape dynamics or render, but I hate leaving un-needed elements in the scene. Ideas? Or just blind and ignore them?

What method are you using to remove them? You should be able to do it on the scene tab.
I select it in the scene table and have either hit the delete key or right click 'remove from scene'. It's worked for a dozen items except those two figures.
If you save as a Scene Subset you will be given the option to uncheck scene items you don't want saved, give that try.
I'll try that. Do I want to uncheck the 'compress file' box?
I would. Compression makes it look like junk when read in a text editor (it zips the file up with the text version inside). Not compressing it will allow you to open it up and have it readable (doesn't zip it up).
That did the trick ... I wonder what was causing the issue to begin with? I've never had that happen before.
It happened to me using Beautiful Bends V4 figure.
Thanks for the answer.
