i13 Late Night Fantastic

I wondered as I purchased the i13 Late Night Fantastic set at that other shop with 'R' before it was moved to here, if that set might get updated or if this leads to a discount here? It is a very beautiful set, but I would not like to buy it twice really. Thank you in advance for answering :)

Probably only updated to be compatible with DS (DUFs), otherwise, it looks like it's the same product from Renderosity (you CAN type out the site name, just not link to it). As far as a discount, probably not, but that's ultimately up to the PA.
It's that OTHER 'R' site...the one that has a minimum rating of R that is frowned upon as far as naming it is concerned...
And technically, you can link to the FREEBIES part of Renderosity...just not the store part. (Get's very confusing...)
You mean *gasp* Renderotica? Seriously, if the mods or other artists here have a real problem with users typing out the legitimate name of a website, I'm on the wrong forums. Linking to Renderotica isn't allowed, of course, as it is an adult site.
Besides, I don't think i13 ever had a store at Renderotica, but I could be wrong.
Considering it almost doubled in price for what it was at Rendo, you would expect something to have been added..
Adding presets and light setups specifically for DAZ Studio might have been enough additional work for the PA to raise her price. At least, those are the major differences I can see looking at product pages. I don't have the sets to compare otherwise.
It may be that DAZ takes a bigger chunk of the sale than Rendo, I don't know.
I would imagine it's partly the fact that all of the materials, lights, etc, had to be redone coupled with the fact that the price of the DAZ version is more likely to be slashed more heavily than the Rendo Version, AND the fact that the market's for the revised version is going to automatically be smaller as a lot of us already have the earlier version. (I know I do.)
On the other hand, it'll be interesting to see if we get a G2 redo of the separate pose set. I was rather surprised that they weren't rolled in this time around.
No one, especially not DAZ, has ever said you can't type the words either Renderosity or RuntimeDNA, that is myth perpetuated by a small group of forum goers with an axe to grind and questionable motives. See I just did it. Typed Renderosity and RuntimeDNA, and I'm a PA here. What isn't necessary, is vendors from other stores peddling their products here on the DAZ forums, using the traffic and forum posts for their own benefit. There are plenty of DAZ PAs who also have stores at Renderosity, and good for them.
Hmmm... let's see...
Renderosity. Renderosity. Renderosity.
Aaaaaa! A guy named Tim just showed up and wants me to buy some old Vanishing Point models!
;-P
OR it's just that the rule that forbids directly linking to products on other 3D stores is sometimes misinterpreted.
Me not mentioning the other shops name was just a choice and not a rule by DAZ3D. I am aware that I could have mentioned it fully.
In any case, it would be nice to know the differences and/or potential discounts for the new product or an update of the existing, already bought product.
A price increase can certainly be justified due to increased amount of work and other side effects, but I am not really willing to pay twice for essentially the same product as the 'old' product (January this year, which is not really old) is very likely a large part of the new.
Greetings,
I've had to be very careful on this front lately; several items by several folks have moved over here from 'rosity. (I use that shortening as a friendly nickname, not because of any rules I know of. I call it 'rosity, the others are: 'rotica, RDNA (and I go there so rarely I have to forcibly remind myself that the 'R' is 'Runtime'), and The Wire.)
Anyhow, I know I13 and Imaginary_House both are bringing items over, and I'm fairly sure there are a few others. I don't really care how updated they are, I'm not likely to buy them twice. HOWEVER, DAZ3D has a large enough customer base that most people probably haven't already bought those items on a different store, so it completely makes financial sense for those vendors to bring items over. It just means that if you shop on both sites, and for things which are in those vendors' wheelhouse, you need to be a little careful and check your purchase histories on the other place.
I wouldn't mind a thread that was just a casual mention of 'new' items that showed up that originated on some other site. My fear is that it would devolve...poorly, but if it didn't I think it would be a useful thing to subscribe to.

Exactly, there have been a number of products that have bounced in both directions over the last few years, and there have always been a handful of vendors like Dreamlight, Pret-A-3D and Vanishing Point who sell the same product at multiple sites. It's confusing enough when it's the exact same product, but when there are obvious changes it becomes even more so.
Over at Rendo I've had good luck contacting vendors directly thanks to the way their store is set up, but it's a bit more difficult here... especially when said PA has completely left the store where said product was purchased. Of course, the ideal solution, from a customer's point of view, would be for vendors to upgrade their archived products on either site to reflect changes made after the turnover... Zev0 has done this, for example, for folks who bought his early bending and face sets before they came over here. For that matter, I wouldn't mind paying a small upgrade fee to get the new materials on a set like this, but I can't even imagine how one could coordinate such a thing when the two stores don't talk to each other (electronically, that is.)
