A plug-in? Are you sure? Most free items are content or scripts, though there are a few exceptions. How is it not working?

If it's actually content one likely issue is too many folders in the zip - it may have a Content or My Library folder before the important folders, in whichc ase you want to merge the folders from there with the matching folders in your content directory - getting the Data and/or Runtime folders in a sub-folder of the cotnent directory would certainly cause missing file errors

  • Yeah a Plugin folder with only a .dll file in it, if I put it in the content library it simply doesn't work and if I put it in the daz instalation directory, (because I spotted a plugin folder there beforehand) it doesn't work either, hence my question.

The DAZ installation directory should have been the correct one.

    For me, it is 'C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins'

You have checked 'Help -> About Installed Plugins' after placing the .dll there and restarting DS and it is not listed?

A quick search for free plugins on Renderosity only came up with Pose Swissknife, and I can confirm it does work with DS 4.20.0.2 when placed in the plugins directory.

  • It works perfectly fine now, must have just not noticed that it was there. Checked the installed plugins and it was there, so I searched and it showed up in the tool pane, thanks for the help.
