Forcing Image Optimization Before Rendering

Is there a way to force image optimization prior to rendering? I mean, I know that Studio does that automatically, but once in a while stops optimizing (see resulting non-optimized render attached). Even shutting down and re-starting Studio doesn't help--I usually have to reboot the computer and re-open Studio and try to render the image before it actually optimizes. There has to be an easier way. Is this a known bug in Studio?

I'm not entirely sure what that shot is showing, but it is not 'image optimization'.

The 'Optimizing images' that happens when you start to render with 3Delight is the only image optimizing that I know of that Studio does. And that is just converting all the texture image files (diffuse image maps), any control maps and any image based light maps to the 3DL native format...tdl. It can't/won't render until that process is complete.

What exactly are you doing to get what you are showing?

If the concern is about those little pixel dots, that's a shadow render type problem. Try the other shadow type option.

By chance, it's not the smoothing modifier right?
Sometimes I push render before the smoothing modifier finishes updating and what you show in your images happens to me.

Al I did was load a scene, load a couple of props (one dynamic one) on the character and hit render. I had rendered the character without the props and it had rendered fine. The only reason I mention the optimization is that sometimes when I hit render, I get the "Optimizing Images" pop up box and then afterwards I don't.

Just to be clear--there is no green in my scene--I used the commercial clay shaders from the DAZ store which render with no problems at all. I'm not concerned about the pixel dots--I'm concerned that the character's head and shoulders render green.

I rebooted the PC, restarted Studio and tried again. The scene optimization ran and then I saw this on the pop up box as the scene was rendering: 3DLightMessage#3 Severity 2: T2040. The result was the same, green head and shoulders.

It looks like something is making the 3DLight engine go South. I have to go back and check my render settings.

We need the rest of that error message...it should have more after the Severity 2:T2040 part.

If that is with the clay shader applied, it may be missing something and that error message would be the clue as to what is missing.

You should be able to grab the entire message from the log file. Help > Troubleshoot > View Log...

Just doing some uick research on "3DLightMessage#3 Severity 2: T2040" and I would suggest you reinstall DAZ Studio.

Okay, I've been working with too many green and purple people to have caught that minor detail ...
The green people that were not supposed to be green in my scenes usually turned out to be a light issue ... as in ditch the light and try another setup.

Mapped shadows cause the green dots. Switch the light's shadow type to Raytraced (software only).

A quick quote from the manual

    T2040 ’filename’ not found
The specified texture or shadow file cannot be found. This usually indicates a problem
    with search paths.

If your using shadow maps on your lights then turn them to ray traces instead.
