Custumizing DAZ items (paint, sculpt) workflow

I've been looking at software to customize items (add more detail to humans and props, add wear, dirt, weathering,...).
Basicaly something that allows me to paint to UV's and/or sculpt detail to meshes while seeing the result in 3D in realtime.
So far I found :
- Substance painter (only painting, easy to use, but uses PBR materials, which will be more difficult to translate back to DAZ).
- 3D Coat
- Mudbox (most expensive of these, but this is last year you can buy a full license before it goes monthly)
- Blacksmith3D (least info on the net, but seems to be well integrated in the DAZ/Poser workflow)
It's a bit too much to learn each of these 4 inside out from the demo's, so any help or experience with these programs (and how well they talk to DAZ Studio) is appreciated.
Thanks,
Peter.

There is Sculptris if that is what you are looking for as well and is I would say is the free version of Z Brush since both programs are made by the same company but Z Brush having more features and costs a lot.. But they do have a paint section not tried it myself more into the morph side of things..
ZBrush can do all those things you want, but not cheaply or easily. It talks to DAZ extremely well.
After years of playing around with Studio, I read up on the program and saved up and bought ZBrush a couple of years ago. Frankly, it has a rather non-intuitive interface and you will have to devote significant time to reading how to do things, but I now use ZBrush to model my characters rather than the sliders in Studio. I export the model into ZBrush, do my custom morphs and then send it back into Studio as a morph slider. I even sculpt my own props (to practice sculpting) and use them in Studio as well. Even after all this time, I still don't know how to do some things in the program, but I'm learning as I go. Steep learning curve and price ($$$) so you'd better be committed to learning to sculpt (and reading and watching online tutorials)to justify the expense, otherwise it's a waste of money.
Sculptris may be a better alternative (as the other responder said above), it kind of ZBrush Lite (and free).
Zbrush, def my go to prog for painting and adding morphs, fairly easy to learn once you get used to the interface... but not cheap... unless you do what I did, win it in a contest
