DS Render to Bas-Relief Displacement Map?

There was topic a while back (was probably on the previous forums) about how to set up a grayscale render in DAZ|Studio (like of naked Vicky holding a vase, or a profile of a swordfight) for use as a displacement map to simulate a simple bas-relief, but I can't find it -- I can't even remember the proper name for this. Help?

It would have been one of several dealing with depth-cueing, whether by shader or camera effects. Take a look at this:
http://www.sharecg.com/v/68542/browse/7/Material-and-Shader/Depth-Shader-Snippet-Shader-Mixer-DAZStudio-4.5
The one I'm thinking of was using one of the old Poseworks shaders IIRC, but I'd be happy with whatever the current methods are.
Can't hit ShareCG from here, I'll take a look when I'm at lunch. Thx!

Got it, installed it according to the directions, tried it, and rediscovered my near-total lack of experience with Shader Mixer. :red: I'm gonna be away from my render computer till next week, I'll give it another shot then.

Do you happen to have this? http://www.daz3d.com/atmospheric-effects-cameras-for-daz-studio
It has a depth camera which can supposedly do this (though I've not actually used it yet). The Readme has a link to a help document which shows it being used for putting 3D relief onto coins - http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/13926/start will take you there.

Yep, and that should do what I need for for this -- thanks!
However, the camera-based method can't take transparency maps into account, which leaves out most hair, and is why Agent Unawares made a Shader Mixer method (which can). Hopefully I can get that working later.
If you want really simple you can do it the oldschool way with a directional light.
Set your objects up in the front viewport, give them a white diffuse material, create a directional light and render the front view.
It's more of a sunken relief since you don't get proper Z-depth but hey it's free and easy plus you can keep bump and transparency.
I just did a little playing around with this method.
You can get a bit more 'pop' if you leave the item you want in front at pure white and then make the items behind it a little grey...like in this case the sphere something like 235, 235, 235. And then the plane 225, 225, 225....it doesn't have to be much. You can also add some variation by playing with the specular and glossiness strengths.
The emblem on the wall (Battle Blades / Decisive Encounter Poses / DzFire's Real Metals) is what I needed this for -- I used Age of Armour's depth camera with about 20% of the directional light method to pick up detail. Appreciate everybody's help!
Can you show how you did this? I'm trying to replicate it!
