AniMate gfa files ??? [Explained]

Bummer! Because of the "Throwback" sale I grabbed a bunch of AniMate AniBlocks sets that I've wanted for a long time. Now I find out that the "Animate InvoluntaryReactions for M4" (SKU 9000) isn't visible in the content viewer of Studio4.7 Presumably because they are "gfa" files instead of "ds" files.
Not particularly thrilled about this. What are my options other than yet again returning something that doesn't work for me now that I've moved up to Studio4? A warning would have been nice. A fix would have been expected. (*sigh*) :coolmad:

gfa files should show up in the animate tab and animate in the appropriate figure if placed in animate folder in your library
most of mine are only accessable there anyway, a just rare few are in smart content and always give me a fright mousing over unexpectedly.
Oh, OK. Thank you. :red:
I'd bought 4 AniBlock sets today two of them included "gfa" files and "ds" files. Two sets only had "gfa" files. All the sets were downloaded manually, then extracted to a temporary folder and the contents of the "contents" folder were moved to my "MyLibrary" folder just like everything else I buy. The files ended up in the path "...\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\aniBlocks\animate"
where I believe they are supposed to be.
I see now that if I have an M4 character selected in the viewport then my "Animate2" pane will let me browse to the motion cycles apparently defined by the "gfa" files, but the absence of "ds" files means that they are not visible in the content browser.
The two AniMate sets that I bought today that do not contain "ds" files are: "InvoluntaryReactions" and "WalkStyles1". I'm able to use them but the fact that some AniBlocks don't show up in the content browser is confusing.
copy the gfa file and give it a ds ending: now you can see it
just a workaround
some installations create the ds files automatically some not
but I am not gofigures nanny here
Hmmm.... well that solution was so painfully obvious, that even the most casual observer should have found it.
Apparently though I, after 40 years of programmer burnout, had come to the conclusion that file formats with different endings were different in content.
I guess I could have looked at the content but burnout has deleterious effects on one's reasoning and ambition.
I bring to mind the famous word of Maynard G. Krebbs when reminded that he could apply thought and energy to his actions and would invariably respond with his signature line "WORK!" in a frightened panic voice.

this thread helped me out. Crazy workaround!
But do as told, COPY and rename the copy. I just changed some GFA to DS and nothing worked...so you still need the GFA there as animate is looking for that. In fact you could get away with just making an empty textfile with the rgiht name to match the GFA since all the DS file does is point to the GFA, but that would likely take longer.
