Gen3 hair loses morphs when converted to gen 8?

Style, blow and movement dials on most G3 hair do not work when I auto-fit them to G8. Is there a solution for this?

    Do not autofit

Without a character selected, load the hair into the scene and go Edit->Figure->Scene Identification and change the "Preferred Base" to G8 male or female - Use the three dots on the right to open the list of compatibility bases.

When done, the hair fits without autofitting and morphs work.

  • It is an older solution, but you can also just parent the hair rather than conforming it.(auto fit) just load hair without figure selected in scene. then place the hair where it is needed, then parent to figure's Head. By parenting and not fit to, it leaves scaling, morphs etc adjustable. As to parenting there are two options one is just to drag the hair to the head in the scene tab. Another method is to right click on the hair, select change Hair parent, this will bring up a menu, scroll the menu till the figure head is available highlight it and click accept

Auto fit does not destroy any morphs, only bones, so if you are saying it is not working it is likely that those movement morphs are activating bones that no longer exist. I am guessing it is a long hair you are auto fitting, as they are the ones that typically have bones.
