Alyson 2-based characters in DAZ?

Hello...

I have a feeling I already know the answer to this question, but perhaps it bears asking:

As much as I love Alyson 2-based characters Anastasia and Aspasia, who were the only reason I began using Poser (in addition to DAZ) about a month ago, I find Poser to be such a clumsy, unintuitive, regressive monstrosity compared to DAZ that it's incredibly difficult to get anything accomplished. Poser has some nice features, but generally, I find DAZ to be an exponentially superior application, especially from a useability standpoint.

That said, I'm wondering if anyone has ever developed a way to use Alyson 2-based characters in DAZ, perhaps as a clone or facsimile of some sort. It seems a pity that such remarkable characters are sacrificed to an Edsel of an application such as Poser.

Thank you for any input.

DS does not read the rigging from Alyson 2. YOu could import the object into DS and re-rig it, but that is not something for the faint of heart of inexperienced. :)

Rigging is an artform, all by itself.

This is what I was afraid of. Poser was an expensive little experiment and a large disappointment. Thank you for your reply.

Sorry I couldn't bring you better news.

You may find GND4 by the same Artist (Blackhearted) suits your needs. (It is based on Victoria 4 which does work in DAZ Studio and can be ported to Genesis or Genesis 2 Female using Generation X2.

I use GND 2 and 4 with great success, the latter in both V4 and Gen2 states, and GND2 as a Gen2 conversion. But Anastasia and Aspasia are different in a very becoming way, so it's a pity that they're woefully limited by an application that, compared to DAZ, is a lumbering and regressive abomination.

  • @Daz_Spooky- I too am massively disappointed in all versions of Poser and have been looking everywhere for a way to use BH Anastasia in Daz. I simply refuse to buy another version of Poser. I use Blender, Unreal and Zbrush as well..so in addition to storage and CPU limitations, I simply cant bring myself to buy a platform a really wont use. Any help in this area would be wonderful!

What about posing Alyson/Anastasia/Aspasia in Poser and then importing her as a prop into Daz? Does that work?

Yes...but you will still have to build Daz optimized materials.
