OBJ Sequence from DAZ Studio to Cinema4D dforce specific.

January 2022 in Cinema 4D Discussion

Okay so I want to go next level on my projects in Cinema4D/Octane and use Dforce with Cinema4D/Octane. I have not been successful, up until I was able to get A FRAME of an OBJ out of Daz3D Studio. So my idea is to get an OBJ Sequence out of Daz3D into Cinema4D, and pop in the texture myself since I'm using Octane. How do I accomplish this without saving the animation 180 times manually? lol. Please tell me someone has a script?

Thanks,

Tristan

I've only been able to get rigged characters and animation to export as FBX.  With OBJ you get those luscious high poly counts, but no rigging.  The only "trick" I remember there is that if it's AniMate, you need to right click in that window and do "Bake to Studio Keyframes".  Otherwise the keyframes won't export.  And their idea of KEYframes and mine are a bit different.  Maybe that's because the stuff I played with was mocapped.  But every single frame had a keyframe.  For simple things, one can just delete everything but every 5th or whatever frame.

That's the sum total of my DAZ->C4D knowledge.  Other than to export Dforce hair you need to turn "Preview PR Hairs" to ON for every hair or fur item, and set Viewport Lines Tessellation Sides to 2 or 3.
