Getting genesis 2 animations into maya

Is there any way to do this? FBX and DAE the bends look horrible. ABC mesh shape looks wonderful, but no matter what I do, I cannot get it to render. I tried attaching every type of shader imaginable to the shading groups, but nothing but blackness as if it isn't there, in vray, mentalray or even regular render.

Part of the problem is that neither FBX nor Collada support the TriAx system -a separate weight-map for each bend axis - so even if Maya does the maps will be reduced to a single, averaged, weight-map in transit. I'm afraid I can't help with eh Alembic issue, other than to suggest checking the normal direction.
