Fourteenth DAZ 3D Bryce rendering Challenge

Theme for this month is "Science Fiction"

So lets us see how much you can think "Outside the Box" with this one.


This thread is the WIP thread, so you can post here to show us how things are coming along before the render is transferred to the actual Contest thread for judging. You don't have to do that.we collect up all the finished ones and make the thread, with each render given a number and title, but no artist name shown, so it's a blind judging thread for the judging panel.


Rules
~~~~~

All renders must be new renders.

You can enter up to 3 renders.

You must abide by the DAZ 3D forum TOS

Imported content is allowed, but the render must be obviously a Bryce render.

Post Work permitted, but please keep it to a minimum.

Rules may be changed for subsequent Challenges, depending on the theme and the person who has selected it.

The winner of the Challenge will get the chance to name the theme for the next contest.

This will then continue with subsequent winners choosing the theme for the next contest, which will enable a new contest to start with the minimum of delay between contests.

Whoever nominates the subject for the Challenge can modify the rules to suit that challenge.

Please don't post your entry renders anywhere else until after the Challenge is judged, as judging is done in a blind judging thread, so the Judges don't know who has done which image.

In addition DAZ 3D Store Credit will be given to the people whose renders are selected as the Honourable mentions,
$10 for each of 3 honorable mentions

We will also be offering a special prize for the render judged the best from a Bryce New User. DAZ 3D will add $10.

Judged by members of the DAZ 3D CV team and guest judges.

By entering this contest, you agree to allow DAZ3D to use any artwork you submit in any promotional materials they may choose.

    Wayhay! Exciting subject with much scope. Thinking laterally, for me Ben Goldacre (Bad Science etc) comes to mind right now.

    Now that my poor ailing computer has been fixed with a new power supply and has stopped collapsing on me, I hope I can contribute to this challenge.

    Nice start to the challenge.

    First WIP caused by a mistake when the terrain ended up above the horizon :-)

    Swamp doesn't make me think of science fiction so will it be the same for the judges? This is what everyone has to keep in mind when producing their images. It might mean science fiction to the producer but does it mean the same in general.

    I think a swamp may be science fiction, but I miss the typical SciFi element like planets in the sky, spaceships, robots, or similar.

    @Fishtails:
    That is more science fiction I think.

    I started a while ago, thinking that scifi might be a nice theme so I was lucky and
    I might as well submit it.

    @drachenlords - that bursting moon looks just great - as the rest of the scene does. The second entry looks equally great.

    @bigh - science-fiction or not, this is a beautiful render with the bird on the bird island.

    @Sandy - very nice idea and well done. The second scene looks great, too.

    @adbc - very nice, what's the name of the android - Andy?

    @drachenlords..."Moonexplosion" is fantastic.. love the varied sky & of course the Moon explosion... Thumbs up for Flying City Panels as well... "Loyalty" is absolutely wonderful...and full of emotion that almost brought a tear...Excellent!
    @adbc... Android... very cool!
    @fishtales... "Who are they?" great effects... and "Last Chance" is a great image.
    @timbateman... Discovery of a New World.. very nice crisp image... and Abandoned Cloud City is wonderful!
    @thesavage64... Love the alien beam effect...
    Great Stuff here!

    Wonderful renders already!

    @Drachenlord: great explosion. Flying city parts: everybody on Zanzibar? Very convincing. And 'Loyalty' looks like a winner to me!

    @OK, I don't understand the sci-fi in the swamp, but it is a vey nice render.

    @Fishtales. Final version of 'who are they?' is clearly the best. I guess the guys will fall from the asteroid before they can blow it up. Looks like it is too small to have some real gravity. Of course, we see only a minor portion! Not so sure about the night attack. I think you can do better.

    @Tim Bateman: Entry 1: simple, but very effective!. Entry 2. OK, nice use of the tutorial.

    @adbc: again: simple, but very effective!

    @TheSavage64: not much needed, I think. Looks very good!

    Trying to get something together myself. It might work.....
