(Solved) Viewing Spherical Renders in Unity

December 2021 edited December 2021 in Unity Discussion

I've been playing around with the spherical lense in Daz Studio, and I've gotten better at camera and model placements. I can now look at scenes in my Oculus Quest 2, and see characters I created in VR. That in itself is really cool. From there, I attempted to take a Daz model over to Unity and use my VR goggles to check her out from all sides. It was super laggy, because I think the Daz models are too detailed for the Quest 2 to handle. So, this brought me to the next idea. How about using Unity for a VR visual novels, with the images for the novel being rendered as spherical in Daz Studio. The problem is, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get a XR rig in Unity to view the images properly. I'm guessing that the XR rig just doesn't work that way. The question is, is there a way to get a camera in Unity to view an image from Daz as 360 degrees? My guess, is that it is really easy to do, but I cannot figure it out, or find any information on the Internet on the subject.

This isn't a huge deal, I'm not even sure if I'll ever get around to making a Visual Novel. I've been spending my time learning Daz, instead of working on a story anyway. However, if someone reads this and just happens to have an answer, that would be super duper awesome. Here is a quick video of me looking at my models in my Quest 2 set. https://youtu.be/bWYauaN1BTw

Can't believe after hours of trying to figure this out, I finally found a solution only minutes after posting this. I took my spherical render, turned it into a material. Added that to the skybox, and it was done. Looks really good too.
