As far as I can tell Filament is some sort of offshout from OpenGL, that runs the texture shaded preview. It seems like it has all of the same inconsistencies with regard to Transparency. I seriously doubt this will change because it's built into the core of how it works.
For hair and other seemingly problematic surfaces, I noticed a Huge improvement to everything when I open the Drawing pane under "Drawing" and turn off Avatar drawing.
Just turned off "draw avatars" in the draw settings and didn't notice any improvement here. The transparency bug is not fixed and hairs seem the same as before. May you post some pictures of the "huge improvement" you get please ?
Not in DS6 it doesn't, lol. I was all excited because of the tabbed content library. And colored hierarchy nodes were finally here, ten years late. I was willing to put up with how slow the viewport is, and the hilariously bad "filament dies for five seconds every time you save anything" bug.
But no rotating the environment node dome light anymore? Nah, the hell with that. Filament is pretty much useless without some way to rotate the light. Back to DS4 for me...
Filament would be a great render engine if DAZ could plumb in all of the capabilities of Filament... like better shadows, emissives, reflections, lighting, etc...

I haven't played with 3Delight yet since I just started getting into DS, mainly because I love the Iray results so much.

Isn't the light just a distant light node? Easy enough to change the angles on that.
