Questions about Decimator

Hi guys, I've just registered last versión of DAZ and thought about purchasing Decimator. My question is regarding basically morphs and other functions: will the actor preserve all the morphs if i reduce the mesh? What about other functions? will still be available or which are lost when decimate a model. And finally, Ive read somewhere that Decimator is not 100% property of DAZ, does it mean I can not use my models in games even if I get the 500$ license?

Many thanks for the help.

Leo

Best suggestion is to send a ticket to CS with your questions. They are the ones who can give you clear and accurate information regarding Decimator and gaming licenses.

    Hi Leo
Great questions. i will do my best to answer them.
    1. You can morph the character to your desired shape then apply the Decimator tool to lower the polygon count of the character. As in all lower poly models finer details of the model may be lost but the overall morph or shape of the figure will not be lost.
    2. You can select certain areas of the model to decimate or you can select the whole model. You can also adjust the amount of decimation to fine tune the shape of your model.
    3. You can use decimated models in your game as long as you have a game dev license and the models are DAZ originals.
Hopefully that cleared up your confusion.
    Have a good day.
