Importing vehicles characters props etc into C4d without starting a new scene

October 2021 in Cinema 4D Discussion

Is there a way of Importing vehicles characters props etc into a preexisting C4d scene without starting a new scene? Whether it be Daz to C4d imported or C4d native format or other compatible format? Please be patient with me I'm new to C4d.

Not possible. You can have multiple scenes open in C4D. Create a new one, import the things you want to import there, rework shaders and then select the objects you want in the first scene and copy them (CTRL-C). save the scene with assets (file -> save with assets) to avoid texture problems.

Then switch back to your first scene via menu bar -> windows. Paste the object. If you have texture problems use the C4D asset manager (windows -> asset manager) to relink the textures (select missing textures, then select relink from the menu and navugate to the text folder where you just saved the other scene).

If you want to load a scene into another sene instead of using the DAZ importer, you just do menu -> file -> merge project.

Specifically ONLY not possible for the DAZ importer. As you later write, normal import of C4D or .obj or other files is done via Merge Project.
