Pythagoras in 3D, though you don't have to do that - I was just explaining what a normal is. If for some reason you want to set a normal as real values, you can create a point with those values and then run it through a Normalise operation to get a guaranteed unit normal.
Ugh.. morning coffee gave me indigestion.. Tums time..
Downloading Houdini to test on my laptop.. always wanted to dabble in VFX and I'm not getting younger.. I bet I could make some AMAZING album cover and track art! Apprentice is free, Indie is just $199.. quite affordable. We'll run Apprentice for a while and see how it goes.
I wonder if a latte' with its milk would make stomach happy or not.. best wait. :blank:
Wheeeeeee just b9ught new Dickies socks, should arrive next week! I bought the cheapie 12-pack last time and each pair has lasted about 2 weeks before getting holes.. :shut:
Bank run soon! The question: Burger King or Taco Berr for lunch?
Isn't Harry Houdini a magician? Never heard of a software program called Houdini before.
morning complaint: people bash landline phones. Why?? I have unlimited minutes for $30. I can call Canada and most countries in Europe for free. Cell phone charges $1.99 a minute for calls to most of Europe. Calls to Canada are 49 cents per minute. Or, I can pay $10 a month in addition to the $40 base fee for unlimited minutes to some countries.
Don't get me started with the people bashing CDMA (Verizon/Sprint/U.S. Cellular).
But I digress.
Buying a drip cone and filters.. order in! A cool glass one this time. Now I can make my own coffee at work! :cheese:
Bank run time... back later! :cheese:
I'd do some simple renderings myself, but I can't get Cinema 4D onto my laptop :blank:
CD seems to be corrupted (Noticing some nasty discoloring on it) so can't launch the Installer nor get the files off the disc manually, and I can't just download the Trial and then input my serial since they only offer R16. I don't know if I can request a downloadable version or not, especially considering I'm three editions behind at this point bleh.
I still got it on my desktop and always overheating older laptop, but my desktop is... Unreliable. Can go anywhere from 15 minutes to 15 hours before crashing. Always a roll of the dice.
Leaves Vue and Zbrush I guess, if I can work up the motivation to bother launching either

some companies offer media replacement. usually charge like 10 bucks for the disk and shipping.
when they put their s/w on a hard drive partition, and hd goes, iz handy option
 just ordered myself a birthday present. meant to order a bread maker machine, but this be more fun.
doesn't say if it's 64-bit. w8.1 is all 64-bit?
tee hee. so excited. my acer netbook is like more than 6 years. it was time for a new one.
i use it at my kitchen table, accident protection is nice in case something spills in the keyboard.
a usb 3.0 port. can transfer my content d/l lots quicker.
SideFX Houdini is a 3D application made SPECIFICALLY for visual effects for film and television. In some ways it's better at it than even 'Maya.. but it's more a tool for a technical director/tech VFX artist as it has a VERY different approach to setting up shots!
Once I can do something other than a bouncing blob, I'll post it!

I have my Vue 10 license.. once I get a laptop with a REAL video card I'll re-install it. Plants and tornadoes!
Ugh on a fussy computer.. can easily ruin your day..
According to NotebookCheck, that CPU is 64-bit.

Too lazy to go looking up to see about a replacement C4D bah. Would probably have to do a phonecall or something, can't be bothered with that haha...
'sides which I only got like 9gigs of space left on my laptop and C4D on its own would take up about 4 or so of that, excluding adding in my hoard of render engines (Though I could just install only Indigo...) and my Projects folder is um.... Big
Mmm pretty sure all (newly produced) computers are 64bit now :)
In other news, it's very wet right now. Lots of raining. Calmed down a little bit now, but still coming down nice and steady. Been at it since yesterday late afternoon!
BEWARE MAJOR RANT AHEAD BEWARE
Cranky now. :shut:
Dead stop at the office because I need a hardware guy. Hardware guy missing in action, hasn't returned email or texts. :shut:
New hardware has some serious issues, I can identify them mostly but not being a EE I have no idea how to fix them. I do know it's going to involve re-laying-out the board.. :shut:
Can't go home early because the boss asked me to wait until 4PM our time before giving up on the hardware dude. That's two and a half hours of sitting here, surfing the Web, not able to do anything productive. :shut:
Emailed my agency rep with status so they know why I'm cranky. :shut:
END OF RANT
No. Windows 8.1 comes in both 64 bit and 32 bit varieties. My Asus tablet has a 64 bit processor but only 32 bit full windows 8.1. However, yours may be 64 bit. A similar model at Tiger Direct specifies Windows 8.1, 64 bit:

You should be certain of things like this before clicking on the buy now button. Win 8.1 does have a 32 bit version. But I think it is bundled with the 64 bit version. Do not take my word for it, though.

Morning. North wind blowing hot bending treetops and making big swirls in the glowy grey overcast :)
Ugh. Here, right now, at 6:42 pm, it's 16 F, feels like 8 F. Balmy. :blank:
Dana
yayy 64-bits.
thanks. :)

feeling like 100 already, humid :)
Rain sounds pleasant, everything here is starting to dry out and go yellow round the edges the past few days :)
Hanging around waiting while you will they won't they over and over is not as relaxing as management usually thinks it is :)

You will need a copy of Fusion as well then....

complaint - snap to grid giving me woes.
feets giving me woes,
my foot puffy and spongey, can see the puff without my glasses. >.< no wanna look at it.
went off my veggie food diet, we ordered deli sammiches for lunch today, i'se suspecting the sodium turkey brie cranberry panini, deelish :)
What part of "impulse buying" don't you understand? :)
Oh, I understand it. Just not at those prices. I grew up on welfare and most of my adult life haven't had the best of jobs (biggest exception was my time with COMDEX/Key3Media Events from 1995 to 2001). Anything that expensive I research well before I make the decision to buy, and did so even in those years.
