Wildenlander HD

Does anyone know if the HD details of the Wildenlander HD for G2M will be included if you export it as a .obj file. I was a little disappointed to discover that the HD details for the Daz Dragon 3 and the Gen 6 characters are only visible in Daz/ Poser via DSON. Not sure if it applies to clothing though.

they should all export as HD obj, only drawback is they tend to be very high poly
you do have subdivision turned on not base mesh?

High poly isn't really an issue as I render with Vue. Subdivision is turned on but when I render the Daz dragon 3 in Daz the HD details for the horns show up. They don't show in Vue when I export it as a .obj though. I wondered what the problem was, but then I read this on the HD morphs for V6 and M6.

"The HD technology requires that users use the 64-bit version of DAZ Studio 4.6.1.17 (or newer) or the 64-bit version of DSON Importer for Poser 1.1.1.17 (or newer) to be able to see/use the High Definition morphs."

So I figured that explained why they weren't showing up.

I'd buy the HD morphs for V6 and M6 if they weren't software specific, but apparently they are. Which is kind of bogus really.

Still, not sure if the same method is being used for the clothing.

OBJ export is at the current resolution of the figure, so if it isn't set to base that will be the viewport subdivision level - usually 2. HD morphs tend to be made at level 3 so you want to unlimit the slider (click the gear icon, Parameter Settings, uncheck Use Limits or raise the maximum) before exporting.

Richard was right. The subdivision has to be turned up. The default subdivision is 1 but if you bump it to 2 then it exports fine in .obj format.

So does the same apply to the HD morphs for characters? 'Cause if it does, then the V6/M6 HD bundle is so going in my cart.

I think it would apply to any instance where hd morphs are used as they are modifying the geometry which should export fine as long as you have Sub D cranked up.

Thanks for that, Razor 42. I'll throw your poses for Wildenlander HD in the cart as well.

Time to pull the trigger and have some play time ;-)

I have just rendered Wildenlander HD in Vue Complete 2014 and it looks like it takes HD morphs for clothes (looking at polygon count).
I have not edited materials in Vue, so one can get even better results then.
In Daz Studio I have set subdivision level on clothes to 3 and then exported as .obj
