For a project, how do you name the task of collecting / processing the content & artwork assets?

For any given project, I sometimes have to spend a fair amount of time pulling together and organising and processing a whole lot of artwork & content from other parties. How do you elegantly name this task on a timesheet / project plan? "Wrangling" I thought was a good idea but it seems too rude perhaps?! :D "Corralling"?

    Asset Management?

    Asset Selection?

  • I use "Project Research" myself.

I thought exactly what LeatherGryphon said... "Asset Management"... It seems pretty straightforward.

    Or perhaps "Resource Integration"?

You are taking multiple resources and integrating them into the project.

If it's mostly from 3rd parties... "3rd Party Integration"... or if you want to sound verbose... "Exogenous Compilations"

if you are referring to collecting info on the products used in a render, I just don't do it in the first place, LOL

Thanks all - an industry recognised term is what I was after. I can't recall what we named it back when I was working in a studio but it was under a more generic project task I think.

As was mentioned before, asset management (possibly digital asset management) should be the relevant industry term. I have not had to do this professionally with Daz Studio projects specifically, but it would be the term for collecting and cataloging images, video, audio, and copy. I can't see anyone objecting to that term for what you are describing, if you need to bill someone and they don't like the term, you can see if they offer a term they use in their accounting.
