As I've watched done for some time. Yes pull the list, and post it to the one thread. Then fuss around, ask questions there, ext. When you think the render is ready, then post it to the entries thread.

Theme, well. This one I think was "Unleashed", before it was "Things you must do before you die". Tho I have not noticed many entries keep a strict adherence to the theme, and I have not judged on that at all my self. I think it may be more for a hint or help to spark ideas for the list of stuff you pulled.

I had thought the maximum number of entries at one time was Seven, tho I didn't see that mentioned this time. And I think 'Time' is the bigger constraint anyway. Any entries after Totte's "End of contest" post in the Entries thread, are trivial, if not only for the enjoyment of the few still doing up renders.
(EDIT; “Curse rule” only applies to that specific contest. So number of items used is independent mostly.)

I've been quite buisy, and I have acquired more stuff quicker then I can keep my inventory list up to date. Thus I watch and admire mostly. Some day, I may do a random, random attempt. Just for the fun of it.
    (EDIT)
For a bit, I only had three figures, Studio included scenes, and Everything put out by Willmap. Not a good line up for doing more then possibly a handful of entries. The Curse Rule, only applies to Items Pulled. So theoretically, I could have Used FW Eve, Wachiwi, and Maggie in every single RRRR entry I could have made, Assuming I didn't pull them more then twice each, lol. If I only pulled Wilmap stuff, then well, how much stuff did she make, lol.

hummmm.. sounds like there's 2 threads??? I'm gonna have to look for that...
I've been doing the DAZ PC weekly contests but my membership expired on Friday... Totte said I should join RRRR.. so I'm gonna try it. I to have been busy buying content faster than my inventory list can update... but ... now it's time to use the stuff I've bought. This will give me a chance and I won't have to worry about rushing around to get the PC item of the week and render something. ;)
I've been doing the PC contest for over 2 years and now I'm looking forward to a change.
Hope you will join me Zarcon ... let's dive in together!!!

    Had an edit there.

There will eventually be three threads.

The main thread, with the rules on the first post. This is where the fun talks happen during the contest.
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/49497/

The Entries thread, this is strictly for entries only, and later on, the winners posted there as well (I think).
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/49496/

Then on closing of the contest, the Voting thread, that is where we are on now.
    (EDIT)
Note how all three threads have "Unleashed" in the title.

    (EDIT2)
OK then, I will guarantee one entry. I will not guarantee that it will be from an 'Up to date' list of my stuff.
Lets just hope the weather and fault under my feet keep calm next contest.

    1) Sometimes a theme, sometimes anything goes
    2) Usually 4. Winners of the previous round have to draw an extra item for each win in the last round
    3) Honor System, but you lose the fun of working with random stuff if you don't really draw random stuff. You are not restricted to DAZ stuff. Just add your other items to your Excel list if you want to.
    4) You don't have to post the items first, but most of us do. It builds up the excitement ;-P for your final reveal.

I look forward to your participation. We need fresh blood.

Thanks zarcon... I see you take great care to pick your choices... It's a little too much work for me.. I just went with my gut as a scanned through the renders and it still took me over half hour to decide... and I'm not sure I put my votes in any particular order (cause I didn't understand the numbering system at the time). Too late for me this month... I'll try and do better next. :)

Melanie... thanks for the tips on DIM... I think I'll try that. I do have excel... question... once you use an item... does it get deleted from the list for the next random pull??? or do you keep it in and it may show up again for another pull??? Does that make sense??? lol

In case you're interested, I've made an excel RRRR generator. Just copy and paste the items from your DIM export. You'll need to enable macros for it to work. Once your items are in, it's literally as simple as telling the generator how many items to pull and hitting the "generate" button.

    Old Excel (.xls): http://www.karibousboutique.com/files/RRRR_Generator_older.zip

I combine my entire purchase history from all of the sites I shop at (about 9500 items?) but many people only use their DAZ stuff because it's soooooo much easier to get a product list. The other sites... well, I've copied and pasted the items from *every order* into my spreadsheet. Over 3,000 items at Rendo and 1000 at RDNA. Needless to say, the initial setup was HORRIBLE, which is why I now update mine religiously. RDNA used to be easy to copy and paste because looking at your order history showed an itemized list of everything. The new site (which is much better for most other things!) no longer allows you to do this. Rendo has the items list now, which makes the copy-and-paste thing pretty painless, though.

For once someone is not forcing me to wipe out over half the monitors in Mission Control with a single powerpoint file, lol.

Thanks for the OOo version KaribousBoutique.

Disclaimer: I don't use OO and I REALLY don't write OO macros, lol. I stitched it together on request (thank you StackOverflow for smart people who let you copy their syntax!) If the OO version is glitchy, you have my sincerest apologies!

Works fine, As for the security settings... I don't advise letting things just run by them self without your consent. At lest It gives you a chance to say no to stuff you don't know about. (EDIT, If you have OOo, there you go.).

This one was a total knockout and really took a lot of thought. Could have easily come up with ten best in each category.

Thank you everyone for your input... :)
Kari... I figured out how to randomize my list in Excel.. It's just gonna take me a while to get all the OTHER stuff in it... I just looked... there's no SAVE TO option at RENDO... I've got about 95 invoices worth of orders... Good think you've been religious at saving your lists to excel... For now.. I'll just live with Daz content... like I said ... I have plenty to work with ;)
I'm off to b-bies.. Good Night Everyone!!! Pleasant dreamzzzzzzzzzz when ya git there! POOF!!!

    Voting closed !

Anyone having any particular wishes for the next round?

I will implement one suggestion from barbult, and I will do it this way:
Lucky bastard pulls that you got from placing in the previous contest will not automatically reset after a contest ends, but will slowly decrease one at a time, so if you had two this round, you will have one the next, plus those you got this round. This will even out the odds even more, those who are too good will soon end up with a whole bag of Lucky Bastard pulls.

Aha! Some of the wily veterans may eventually have to use ALL of their content! Could the lucky bastard rule force someone to purchase MORE content? I hope you have a sharecg account, Totte. ;-)

I need to pull 1204 lucky-basted items, and I only have 1202 things in my content, lol.

Honestly, that just sounds complicated for everyone. my two pennies. (EDIT) And how many items can you cram in a render before, something is not 'prominent', assuming you had the ram for it? lol.

1024 lucky bastard items mean you have placed top three 2047 times in a row.....

the pull is 4, if you place top 3, you get a LB item per placement, if you place then next time too, you will still have one LB, but if you placed two times last time, one in each category, then you have 2 LB items round 2, and if you place two times in that too, you have 3 LB items round three, not 2. (those two you had from round two do not reset but is decreased one per time you compete. If you try to be smart and ignore a content, the LBs will still be with you.

Rememeber this only affects Lucky Bastard items, not the normal ones.

...one other idea (not theme) would be to post the corresponding pull along with the pic on the Entries Only thread. Still found myself having to go back to the main thread a lot to see what the actual RRRR items were. This would be especially helpful when an RRRR challenge gets the response this last one did.

As I am seeing both more new bloo-...er...participants joining, along with the additional LB submissions, this challenge will continue to grow in size and voting become more difficult.

It's perfectly simple: if you are having you hair cut but do not have a younger brother and have already written your letter home, then provided you move your coat onto the lower peg you'll be fine....
(And if that doesn't clarify matters, you're probably not a Monty Python fan)

But seriously, you've no need to worry aboout LB pulls for your first RRRR Contest, and then if you're in the fortunate position of winning first time in (not impossible at all for a lady of your capabilities!) then some kind person will jump in and help you work out how many LB pulls you need to do in your second RRRR Contest.
