Again products removed from a sale

Grrr!!! Once again products have been pulled from a current sale. In this case, the Vascularity Bundle, the Growing Up Bundle, and the Shapeshift Bundle all were in the Genesis 70% off sale. I had them in my cart and before I could purchase them they all had been pulled from the sale and the price shot up.
And this is not the first time this happened recently. The other day I spent considerable time going through the animal sale only to have the items I wanted pulled. It seems this keeps happening regularly.
I guess DAZ just doesn't want my money anymore, because I am getting awfully tired of wasting time shopping only to have the price shoot up.

Yes, they were actually pulled from the sale.. I don't own them, They were in my cart at the lower price and while I was still shopping they were pulled and the price in my cart went up. Not happy!

Charlie, I had the same reaction. I'm kicking myself because I could have grabbed the vascularity bundle when it was discounted at the start of the sale but I decided to wait until morning instead. I suspect the sale was initially set for all Genesis content and then later they realized this had unintended effects for bundles with G2 content. Or maybe they realized that with the Editor's Choice sale, certain Zev0 products were being too heavily discounted.

It's a bit frustrating but these things always come around again.

Essentially those items were not meant to be included - those who managed to check out enjoyed a glitch sale, but the actual offer is for Supersuit content rather than general Genesis content. I realise that doesn't make it any less frustrating if you just missed a bargain, but the promotion is (as far as I know) now working as intended.

Yes Richard. But this is NOT an isolated incident. It seems to be happening regularly and causing a lot of frustration to those of us who wasted their time shopping. There once was a time when DAZ3D actually would honor price errors.

They do honor price errors if you get out of the store with the booty.

But like a real (brick & mortar) store that mistakenly advertises all "TVs 100% off" when they meant 10% off, you'll be lucky if you get a free TV and certainly you're out of luck after they find the error and change the advertisement.

However, I agree these errors seem to happen more often than competency would suggest. But that's an internal DAZ issue.

Sorry but that is incorrect - there are 2 sales advertised one for the Classic Supersuit items and one for Genesis items

It's a genesis sale, not a genesis 2 sale. That's why your genesis 2 items that you are trying to purchase shouldn't be included.

I was just about to post that screen cap. The sale does appear to extend beyond Supersuit-related items but it doesn't seem to extend to Genesis 2 items (unless you count single items that apply to Genesis and Genesis 2, like hair and models).

The Zev0 bundles that Charlie referred to all contain separate Genesis and Genesis 2 versions. The sale correction simply excluded the bundles that had a separate Genesis 2 version. The Genesis versions are all still listed at 70% off. So there's no inconsistency with the sale banner.

Had the same thing happen with the same bundle :(

All the items linked from that page are showing the 70% discount, including Growing up and Skin Overlay sets (though it does say the sale doesn't stack with other offers, so if you are getting an Editor's Choice discount on the Zev0 products that may take precedence). The bundles won't be discounted, I think, if they are both Genesis and Genesis 2.

There is a lot of precedent for the bundles to be included. They contain both Genesis and Genesis 2 items. and there are other items in the sale that are for both Genesis and Genesis 2. For example, 'Skin Builder Basic for Genesis and Genesis 2 Female(s)' is still in the sale. And in the old M4/V4 sale there were a lot of items that covered both M4/V4 and Genesis. Whether or not DAZ intended them to included only DAZ knows for sure. But once they were in the sale it would have been nice if DAZ left them there.
It makes me feel like not shopping here anymore.as I am very tired of searching sales, putting things in my cart, and then have them pulled from the sale.

The Sebastian Hair Bundle is still in the sale and it has both 'Sebastian Hair for Genesis' and 'Sebastian Hair for Genesis 2' Also the Julius Hair Bundle, So what is the difference between these bundles and the bundles that were pulled?

I dare say its more to PA discretion with some of the items being pulled, I have a few items that are both for Genesis and Genesis 2 in the sale. At first I was a little worried seeing the item's so heavily discounted. As 70% is a an extremely large discount leaving very little meat on the bone for the PA share. With consideration I decided not to try to have my items removed from this sale.

70% is extremely generous discount which I doubt you will see matched elsewhere for items of this quality.

As frustrating as it is for a customers to see items removed from a sale, please also try to consider the frustration for a PA of seeing the family silver being given away for a song and that they have a right to decide to pull an item from a sale if they think thats best for there product catalogue.

I applaud your decision and that of the other PAs who also left their products in the sale and honored the commitments made by DAZ on their behalf when the items were placed in the sale. I certainly will take this into consideration when deciding what (if any) items I will buy.

In defense of high percentage sales, as long as profit doesn't evaporate completely it's still a sale. And in many cases it is a sale that wouldn't have happened at all without the impulse buying of long drooled-over wishlist items that would probably never have risen to the "need" stage anyway.

Personally I think slash and burn sales are a reason I even come into the store regularly, hoping to snag a brief bargain. But while I'm here browsing through the new (and old) products I sometimes create a "need" for something I'd ignored in the past. So in that respect the slash & burn sales do often pick my pocket more than I originally expected. And to be honest I rarely buy anything at full price unless it is an absolute immediate need. 10% is meaningless. 20% is nearly meaningless. 30% gets a glance. 50% is interesting. 70% inspires new scene ideas and a "need". 100% is "unless it's revolting, grab it NOW & toss it in the miscellaneous pile."

Unfortunately I'm prone to the same problem in the grocery store, often even forgetting the one item I went in for. But I did get the two-for-one ice-cream deal! 8-o

A problem with slash & burn bargains arises when they are available for too long. In many cases, 24 hours is too much. But because of the time zone issues, perhaps 36 hours would be just right. If a bargain is available too long it ceases to generate the panic needed to whip out one's credit card immediately.

And now another item in the Genesis sale that I was considering appears to have lost its discount:

    http://www.daz3d.com/ape-world-2-bundle

    http://www.daz3d.com/darwin-the-toon-chimp

And it is even still shown on the sale page.

Edited to add: Plus there is no extra 30% off PC discount on DAZ originals in the Genesis sale. Guess I'll just save my money.

Absolutely yes except for the last. If something is 100% off, I grab it anyway. A quickly-developed habit after registering with DAZ !

Is it my imagination or did the base price for Zev0's Vascularity sets each just go up from $15.95 to $17.95? :ohh:

Actually all Genesis items from RawArts store have been taken out of the sale. Since he had a 65% (glitched as 66%) off sale less than 2 weeks ago, it's only fair for the PA.

And can you imagine all the request for a refund due to a lower sale price?

Stop wasting time considering . . . buy, BUY, BUY ;-)
