Curious Question about post counts and a user

I had a user contact me in the forum personal messages about modeling a custom object. Odd thing is they had a number of posts going back to 2012, but just the same, their profile  and Avatar lists them as having 0 posts. Is this unusual? I won't load an image the list of their posts to avoid identifying, but it is still odd.

I have obscured actual user details except the 0 post count. Seemed curious.

    Possibly under moderation? Don't really know.

    The forums were reset a number of years ago. They also might have been a customer since 2012 but has never posted to the forums (at least since the reset).

    posted on the old forum only?

    A few who mever posted since the forum software was updated have zero posts.
