Ug, yeah, I was having issues with the sale too. Had a punchable item in my cart, and a couple 2014 items (older than 60 days) for genesis 2 in my cart. No discount at all. None. I bought it anyway and sent pictures of the cart and the sale page showing the promotion and punchable items.
It's really really frustrating!!! And just now reading through here I see someone mention some kind of end date, which I find, well, kind of funny. Because I never see sale end dates listed. Ever. Everything is open ended and so ambiguous and frustrating. Can't even count how many times I've missed sales because Daz still can't manage to give important information on sales dates.
Either way, the sale promotion page was still up, so therefore, the sale should still be working, far as I can see. I came in here to mention my problem and see that others have similar issues, so at least it's not just me having issues with the sale not working right.
Happy New Year all, l and hope its a year of more coherent and simple sales at Daz :) All these complicated sales just make my head hurt, and in the end I just wait for stuff in my cart to be on sale so I don't have to figure the sales stuff out most of the time. ^^;;;
Also, wanted to add. I did try to buy some other things earlier in the sale, and was having issues then too. Not sure what was wrong. I think I had two different punchable items, and two other things, but the discount didn't apply, which I thought then was because I had 2 punchable items in the cart at the same time. But that doesn't make any sense either, because why would you buy only one punchable thing at a time to get discounts? unless that' s a gimmick to make you buy more.....
Augh. Like I said, these sales don't make any bit of sense to me at all. I just couldn't get any sale stuff working so finally at the end i just bought it and hope that sales will give me whatever discount since I really can't figure anything out. I REALLY miss the plain and simple "this stuff is on sale for such and such percent off until such and such a date." No confusion there. :-/
I buy a lot of Daz stuff, but i have to admit there's a lot of sales the past year I've kind of lost out on just because I don't understand something and/or the sale doesn't work right for me. :(
Belovedalia, we are with you, united in the face of grim sales "When The Stars Are Right"! :)
Reading about all these troubles with the store sales involving the "punchable" items I'm glad I didn't get involved. However, we can't completely blame DAZ, because complicated systems fail on their own without more attention to detail than normal. And besides, it's holiday time, who's actually minding the store this week?
Regardless of the system, "the devil is always in the details". He just lurks there waiting to jump out on unsurprising victims. Even if DAZ were to announce everything in the store was free, there would probably be a detail like "you have to come to Utah to collect it personally". Figure the detail of how much that would cost you and would it be fair to everybody? 8-O
I did however, luck out and get several RawArt items on simple sale terms over the last couple of days. Very very happy! :-) Thank you RawArt for keeping it simple. You win, I win. 8-)
But those complicated sales games that involve buying so much here so you can get a little off there are just that... games. And I always end up feeling like a loser even if I get a couple percent off an item. I feel like I was suckered in and fleeced because I didn't spend enough to get the nearly unreachable big prize and simply ended up with the booby-prize.
Of course some people like to play games even if they could lose their shirt. Las Vegas depends on it!
Good point, Gryphon. The sales used to be simpler. But with each item added, the database grows more and more difficult to command, so I understand there are glitches. If you are a small company, you may have it easier, but DAZ is big now. Too many cooks are more likely to spoil the broth.
And I just realized that my "final" purchase (final attempt?) was past the sale "deadline".... but but but I hope they accept anyway since like I said, I wasn't able to purchase before. If not, I'll just refund the whole purchase I guess. So frustrated with sales glitches though :( Daz is usually pretty cool about stuff so I will keep fingers crossed....
Yep. It would be nice if they had extended it for a day since it was broke. I had stuff in my cart but gave up and went to sleep. Then I just deleted them when I woke up and the sale had ended. Oh well, I guess I'll keep what little money I have and save up for March Madness
Charlie
Maybe you need to get in quick while stocks last. I always get the Daz offers without any problems, especially if there's a good promotion on.
After all this time (about twelve hours for me) the WuKong outfit STILL doesn't have a sale price.
At least it's showing up in the store now. I purchased the textures hours ago.
Hi Charlie, what was you trying to buy?
Yeah, I finally was able to access my cart again.... 5 minutes after the sale ended. So, regardless of what changes I wanted to make before checking out (which were substantial - I had hundreds of items in my cart) I couldn't even make a purchase at all. If my cart's down I can't give you my money, whether it's $1 or $500. To me, that is simply unacceptable.
I don't mean to take this out of context, as you weren't letting them off the hook, but I thought it was worth addressing. While I have sympathy for having to work during holiday hours, DAZ had the option of when to run this sale. And if that's when they felt it would be most effective from a sales perspective, then they need to have their A team on it.
Anyone who's worked any job in or related to retail can tell you - you don't get time off at the peak of business. I used to work for the warehouse of a coffee company whose name rhymes with "car schmucks". From mid-November through the first of the year was, unsurprisingly, their busiest time. That meant we worked long overtime hours - no vacation approved. And just before Christmas and Thanksgiving we worked 6-7 days/week, 12 hours/day. We didn't expect sympathy and didn't feel exploited. We just knew that the amount of business dictated that.
Oh, and I still haven't seen any progress on my support ticket other than auto response. I'm guessing they probably got quite of few of those last night, judging by the posts I've been seeing. So I understand that it might take a while. But having an actual human being at least acknowledge that someone has seen the ticket and they will address it as soon as possible would be nice. And, no, the auto-reply doesn't count. That simply means the system has acknowledged that I properly submitted a problem. It doesn't guarantee that it will necessarily ever get dealt with.
I'd like to be optimistic and hope that DAZ can resolve my situation in satisfactory a manner. But, realistically, they might not be able to from a logistical perspective. And so this experience has really left me with a very negative impression. My first reaction was: "I've spent thousands of dollars with you over the years and I was going to spent a substantial amount on this sale" but then I realized that #1 I hate that guy ("Do you know how important I am?!") and #2 it shouldn't matter how much I've already spent or how long I've been shopping with them. ALL customers deserve to be treated fairly. And it doesn't look this was the case in this situation.

I also am not getting any discount on the Wulong outfit by itself but literally every other item round it is at 51% off. How odd.
Wow. Just refreshed my cart again - on the delusional hope that they may have restored the discounts in it - and I got this familiar screen. This is what I saw for the last 3 hours of the sale when I tried to access my cart. Like I said earlier, at 11:05 PST (12:05 MST) I was finally able to access my cart. Then I check again today, when no big sale is going on, and it's screwed up again. I'm losing confidence rapidly...
That is a cloudflare error Logging out and logging in again may clear it, or else try closing the browswer and clearing the cache. Sometimes just a hard refresh will clear it. As a last resort try clearing your DAZ cookies, particularly the one called "frontend"
Did all of the above last night when I couldn't access my cart for nearly three hours. None of it worked. Finally, as I stated earlier, it responded to a refresh five minutes after the sale was over (11:05 PST). I occasionally got the same thing on other DAZ pages but a click of the refresh resolved it. It worked on all pages except my cart - regardless of how I tried to access it.
I'm not going to go through closing the browser/clearing the cache, etc. again today because I've got pages that are displaying the info I want them to that will disappear (update) if I go that route. Also, right now I don't actually need to do anything with my cart as I'm waiting to get the previous issue (potentially) resolved.

The most annoying thing to me when these things happen is that I may have spent several hours browsing the store and putting stuff in my cart, to no avail.
Hmm the Wukong Outfit is only at 30% discount while the Storm Queen is at 51%. And is the Wukong outfit part of the Storm Temple Bundle or not? It is irritating because the text doesn't mention it but in the main promo the Wukong outfit is shown. Sorry to say that but buying at Daz is not funny anymore because the shop is a catastrophy with all these bugs and so many sales.
No, it's not in the bundle. The picture is for the poses.
No it's for the outfit, I think. There are no male poses in the Year of the Goat promotion, only ones for Storm Queen.

Looks like you're both right... kinda. The main product pic appears to be somewhat misleading. It's clearly a composite of thumbnails for four different products: Storm Queen Poses, Wukong Outfit for Genesis 2 Male, Storm Queen Temple, and Storm Queen Outfit for Genesis 2 Female. However, if you go to the actual product page for the bundle, it shows that it only includes three of them, the exception being the Wukong Outfit for Genesis 2 Male.
Hope that clears it up - as much as it can considering the confusing thumbnail.
