Build Your Own Sword Kit, (SKU 4855) doesn't stick together

The "Build Your Own Sword Kit (SKU 4855)" has some of the nicest and most accurate sword objects I've seen. I've been able to load the sword parts into a scene and they come together in the right order. But it doesn't hang together in one piece when I attempt positioning and I'm having trouble with trying to parent it to a hand. I'm hoping someone can advise me on what I'm doing wrong.

    Pick a part, such as the hilt, to be the base and parent everything else to that (then parent the hilt to the hand). Or, if you are using DAZ Studio, select all of the parts and go to Create>New group, give it a name, and parent the group to the hand.

    Thanks for the tips. Both worked. Sorry for not replying sooner but with trying to learn Hexagon, figure out why my lights in Reality renderer seem turned around 180 degrees, and keep a greenhouse together in sub-zero weather... you know. Again, thank you.
