DAZ just lost out on another sale to me because of these stupid pop ups.
Money that normally would go to DAZ is now going to other sites.
You are logged in, right? I have only seen those when I have not been logged in but I don't really do shopping on the phone.
Are you deleting cookies? I see the pop-ups only when opening a private window, to check sales etc.
That is such a good idea! Totally going to follow your recommendation (please note this comment was not in purple).
I don't know anything about cookies. I'm running the latest version of the OS and the latest version of Firefox for iPhone.
It's almost an ISO Standard - just Google this: "purple sarcasm font"

You are not alone: There are a number of other threads on this annoying topic, e.g.: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/478871/website-error-join-the-community-ad-won-t-go-anyway/p1
I just spent $82 on characters and accessories from competitors websites. DAZ would have got first shot at my money but their pop ups are preventing me from making a purchase so my money went elsewhere.
Cookies are those little round baked goods little children stuff in their faces and the jars of which, official type individuals are always caught with their hands in... but, a computer “cookie” is different... it's more formally known as an "HTTP cookie", a "web cookie", an "Internet cookie", "browser cookie" or a "delicious chocolate chip electrowebtronic cookie".
I may be mistaken about that last one, but it sounds like it's probably real... maybe.
The name is actually a shortened version of “magic cookie,” which is a term for a packet of data that a computer receives and then sends back without altering it... it has nothing to do with wizards or magicians as some believe.
I don't really believe that.
Anymore... I mean why call it "magic" if wizards aren't involved?
Anyway...
The point of a computer cookie is to help a website keep track of your visits and activities.
This isn’t always a totally horrible bad thing... For example, most online stores use cookies to keep track of the items in a customer's shopping cart as they shop.
Without these sort of cookies, your shopping cart would reset to zero every time you clicked a new link on the site... That would make it very frustrating and fairly impossible to buy stuff online and would be just slightly more annoying than constant cloud flare issues... theoretically.
Websites also use cookies to keep a record of your most recent visit or to record your login information to make your visits more convenient. Lots of people find that useful so they can store passwords on frequently used sites.
Different types of cookies are used for different kinds of activities...
Session cookies are used only when a person is actually visiting a website, but once you leave the site, the session cookies magically disappear.
Tracking cookies are used to create long-term records of multiple visits to the same site.
And authentication cookies track whether a user is logged in, and if so, under what name.
There are bad cookies like "Zombie Cookies" which recreate themselves after they've been deleted, they are difficult to get rid of because they are often distributed or hidden in places not normally associated with cookies... I think... I forget how it works, but at least they don't try and eat you brain.
Then there are "Third-Party cookies" which sound like moldy old cookies past from one party to the next like twenty year old fruitcake that keeps getting regifted... Third-Party tracking cookies can also cause security and privacy concerns, since they make it easier for entities you can’t identify to watch where you are going and what you are doing online.
And finally there are some forms of malware and viruses that masquerade as cookies... that's not very common under normal circumstances, but it is a thing.
Here’s a general idea of how to find and manage your cookies in order to protect your online privacy...
1- Open your browser.
Because cookies are stored in your web browser, the first step is to open your browser.
2- Find where cookies are stored.
Each browser manages cookies in a different location... For example, in Chrome, choose “Preferences” from the Chrome menu in the navigation bar, this will display your settings. Then expand the “Advanced” option to display “Privacy and security.” From there, open “Content settings” and “Cookies.”
In Internet Explorer, you can find them by clicking “Tools” and then “Internet Options.” and from there, select “General” and “Browsing history” and “Settings.”... in Safari, choose Safari > Preferences, then choose "Privacy".
3- Manage your cookies.
Every browser gives you a bunch more of options for enabling or deleting cookies. Internet Explorer, for instance, allows you to manage cookies under “Privacy” and “Advanced.”
In Chrome, find where cookies are stored as outlined above, then select your management options under “Cookies.”
In Safari you can pick any one of the following... “Prevent cross-site tracking.”, “Block all cookies.” or "Allow all cookies".
Note- Blocking all browser cookies could make some websites impossible to navigate or even visit.
However, choosing a setting that controls or limits third-party and tracking cookies can help protect your privacy while still making it possible to shop online or visit various websites safely.
I hope this was helpful while simultaneously not being entirely boring and yet somehow manage to stimulate one's sense of wonder in the world.
Posting this in the forum is a way to find out if others have the same problem and serves to vent frustration. It is not, however, a way to get anything fixed.
The way to raise the issue to the developers is to open a problem ticket.
Scroll down near the bottom and click on "Contact Us"; then on "Find Answers"; then on "Sign on" (top right) if your name isn't there; and finally "Submit A Request" and fill in the form. No guarantees that anything will get fixed as a result, but just posting here won't get anything started.
I don't really get the need to shop on the phone, exclusively, but I am able to shop fine, as long as I am logged in, on my phone. Without being logged in I do get the popup. But I also can't really purchase anything without being logged in. Maybe if you posted the OS and browser it might help to match the issue and see what the culprit is.
I shop on the phone for a few reasons. First off, I have seceral hours to kill so I try to use that time productivrly. As part of that, I check my emails. Those emails include messages from DAZ alerting me to the daily new releases. In the past, I would click on the links and examine the products being offered in detail and decided which ones I wanted to purchase. Now, I click on the link and my window freezes when that pop up appears.
I just see this as so very counter productive on the part of DAZ. They go to the trouble of creating daily new products. the create and impressive email message and send it out. I get interested in a procduct and their own software won't let me continue to purchase it.
As I said, it is their loss. I now spend that money elsewhere. I use to buy things that I wanted. Now, I only buy things that I need.
I am just making sure you are logged in consistently. Because the only time I see the banner is when I am not.
If you click on the attachments that i have been including and look in the upper right hand corner you will see that It shows that i am logged in
Sometimes there is a false login that happens for a bit. At least there used to be. I hope you get it figured out if it is the browser or an issue. Good luck
My guess would be a browser issue. I have no problems with freezing or banner popups on an iphone with Safari or Google Chrome
I use Firefox
It appears a number of people are having the same problem --> website error - Join the Community ad won't go anyway - Daz 3D Forums
Yes. I have sort of skimmed through the thread and it seemed that a lot of it needed to be logged in. Hopefully, if has been flagged properly and reported rather than just a forum post. Good luck.
Where ever the problem is, the point is that their overly aggressive marketing strategy is shooting themselves in the foot -- they send me a daily email with new products to capture my interest. Somebody goes to a lot of trouble to prepare this email to make it appealing and capture my interest. Which it does but then when I want to explore it further, their pop up window prevents me from doing so. Thus, killing the sale for them. They went to all that trouble to get me interested and then their own software won't let me spend my money.
As I said, my extra money is now going to their competitors -- because when I want to make a purchase, they don't stop me from doing so with their pop up windows. I now only buy from DAZ things that I actually need. It's their loss. as I was a frequent buyer with over a hundred pages of product.
For me, I am truly glad of the popup because it allowed me to actually get the newsletters again after not being able to for years. Of course, it didn't need to be a popup. It could have been a link in the footer or elsewhere.
The issue is that this stupid feature is preventing me from buying things that they went to the trouble of getting me interested in, in the first place. As the title of this thread says, they are shooting themselves in the foot.
What popup? I shop on my iPad and iPhone all the time and don’t have any pop ups. Bad formatting, unreadable text and other issues, yes, but no popups...
Please see all of the attachments that I've been attaching.
Well, it's causing them to lose money in cakes, so I would think that they would care and others are also having this problem
Now it won't let me login because the login button is under the pop up with and I can't click it
Have you put in a ticket yet?
