I agree they should feel welcome to post, I'm just afraid it would result in a lot of misinformation like we saw on the first thread about NFTs, and trolling. And Daz has access to the sales figures of their NFTs, that also should give a good indication on the level of interest.

If Tafi wanted to say that they do not care about environment, then partnering with Coca Cola to sell non environment friendly NFTs was a good call. Congrats to that.
So some individual (presumably a real individual) paid $575,883.61 to basically advertise for Coca Cola?
Unless I'm mistaken, the enthusiastically rambling word salad celebrating this momentous occasion in the history of mankind, says the items in the loot box were all Coca Cola themed items that basically advertise for Coca Cola...
Well, that and they thoughtful included a fully stocked refrigerator full of coke...

I wish I had a spare couple of million dollars to offer to a giant corporation so they'd put a billboard on my house to advertise their product.
That would be even cooler.
If I live a million years, I'll never understand the desire to pay someone big bucks to wear or display their logo for them and receive nothing of real value in return.
Oh and given the recent "red alert" on global warming and the fact that we may have already passed the point of no return, I'm particularly happy for Tafi to advertise their part in leading us further over the brink.

Nice one. Floods and large fires due to climate change all over the world, and tafi is still busy burning the planet.
I suppose I have to ask Coca Cola how that marketing stunt fits into their environmental sustainability program... I am really curious if they have better information....
I would be very interrested in their reply, though at this point I don't really think anyone seriously can claim ignorance about the enviromental impact of NFTs. I think the enviromental impact is pretty well known now.
What suprises me is now that half of the nothern hemisphere is either on fire or being pleagued by floods, there is no bigger backlash agains crypto's. We could save the CO2 emmisions of several countries by just cutting down on them.
I'd not even heard of NFTs until now. No-one I know has ever mentioned NFTs, and i've never come across them on the interwebs until now. Maybe a lot of other people's experiences are the same?
Having said that, I don't live in the U.S so maybe that's something to do with it?
True, plenty of people on earth have never heard of NFTs... it's just that if you are making NFTs, or Buying NFTs, or organizing a promotional campaign involving NFTs, all of which involves cryptocurrency in one way or another, it's sorta hard to claim that you are unaware of the environmental impact they create... Granted, if you are some rando guy on the bus and I ask you "quick what's an NFT and is it environmentally unfriendly?" I shouldn't expect you to know what the hell I'm talking about... but someone involved with NFTs really should be aware of this issue... I wouldn't really buy the claim that they haven't heard of it's negative issues.
I suppose everyone tells themselves a different thing to ease the conscience when it comes to this... "I'm not contributing that much, it's just one transaction"... "Global warming isn't real"... "what about the environmental impact of other financial institutions".... "I recycle so it's okay"...
But in the end, the damage done is real and lasting.
I think anyone being a player in the NFT game can really claim they haven't heard of the environmental damage issue and should just fess up and say they either don't care or don't believe it will effect them significantly enough for them to care.

Now that I've read a little about them, I personally wouldn't ever support the NFT scheme, or anything related to it. For me, there's already way too much of an impact from people's constant want to use more and more electrical power, which of course all contributes to the greenhouse effect. NFTs are just another symptom of people using the word 'need' instead of 'want'. No-one needs to go to youtube, or to use twitter, and no-one needs a new phone when they have a perfectly good and useful one in their bag..etc, etc.
It was only 50-ish years ago where most of the electrical devices that we have today didn't even exist, and we didn't have such a need for electrial energy generatioon. We didn't have microwave ovens and dish washers etc. Convenience has won out and caused environmental change with long-lasting, globally negative effects that will take centuries to reverse.
Additionally though, I wouldn't support MFTs because I don't think art is precious. That's just my personal view though.
Yes, I completely agree with the "need vs want" point... we live in very disposable times, where you are expected to constantly buy the newest and coolest things... quality and durability are relics of a novel past... consume and dispose as fast as possible, and if you feel guilty, buy the one with the picture of a green leaf on the box , so you can pretend it's actually environmentally friendly... the hell with the consequences.
Convenience wins over consequence every time, and more often not even actual convenience, merely the promise or implication of convenience.
On the bright side, the sentient cockroaches who inherit the baked out husk of a planet we are creating, will make trillions of Roachiedollars mining all the precious materials in our landfills and hopefully they'll have learned from our stupidity.
