    No, custom layouts are not automatically synced with the defaults. You can update menus (Updated and Merge Menus in Scripts>Utilities) but for others you either need to reload the default toolbars or you need to manually add the new functions where you want them in the Customise dialogue. I suspect the octane button is added because the plug-in looks for a suitably named toolbar on first run and adds itself - but the built-in DAZ tools don't do that, and it would be annoying if they did.
