Why is puppeteer in DAZ studio 4 so crappy?

What broke in DAZ studio 4 in regrds to puppeteer?
I find it very good in Carrara and used it in DS3 a lot too but it runs out of steam after about 100 or so frames and grinds to a standstill by 1000
if you do more recording part way is spazzes out like this
