What does this error message mean?

What does this error message mean? Also, I can't change the pixel size settings under the render tab. Is it related?

That message means DS can't connect to the database used to store metadata about products.

There's no reason it would affect anything but smart content, category or product views.

So how do I turn it off? And any ideas on the pixel size problem? Do I need to reinstall again?

Render Settings>Editor tab, in the general group. If you want to chnage the proportions make sure the constrain option is off.

That's how I've always done it. I have a feeling it's because I changed computers and put my old hard drive in an enclosure and am using it as an external hard drive to save space. I hate reinstalling daz. The files are too confussing in the product library.

I've used DS with content directories on an external drive for something like 15 years, I really don't see what that would have to do with render dimensions...

Having DAZ or its library in an external drive works also OK for me. But if besides moving the library you actually moved all of DAZ and the CMS you may need to change more settings or preferably reinstall to set all.

Please show a screen shot of the Editor tab of the Render Settings pane.

The pixel size might be because the camera has a set dimension attached to it. I know Stonemason does this with some of his sets.

Or you've toggled on the lock for those settings by mistake?

You have the "Dimension Preset (Global)" set to Active Viewport - in your screenshot the active viewport seems currently to be the Auxilliary Viewport, hence the tiny pixel settings.

You need to drop down the list and select a different preset - I generally have "Custom" selected, where I can then type in the exact dimensions I want.

Thank you! Lol ... I have used the same settings for so long, when I had to both upgrade and install on a new system at the same time, I couldn't remember how I'd originally set it up so I could change those pixel settings. So many of the tools have moved or been renamed that in my frustration this was just one more stressor, lol. At least this is resolved now. Thanks :)
