You are NOT alone in this!  There have been things in sales that I automatically start reaching for the 'Add to Cart' button but stop halfway thinking, "Waaaait a minute.... I could have SWORE I already bought that!"  I've even had this happen after scouring my content library KNOWING I already bought it only to find it still for sale in the store. But unless I can  find a render I did with it, there's no knowing for certain.

If you bought it, it will show up on the product page that you purchased it if you're logged in.

Search your email for the product name and see if a receipt comes up for it. I definitely have the "didn't I buy that already" feeling happen for lots of things that have been repeatedly added and then removed from my cart! But after the latest Storepocalypse and having many current purchases, some older purchases, and entire tickets of things purchased weeks afterward (as in six to seven) deleted from my account and showing in the store as unpurchased items, I will never again attribute it to my faulty memory without checking the receipts first.

Given how much stuff I've bought and also decided to wait for a better deal on, it's obviously usually a memory lapse, lol. But it's good to check.

  • Some products are just so great that you have to buy them over and over again....

i don't have this problem since it usually says purchased if i already bought it, not sure i see the issue.

Same here. Always says purchased. If it's one of the "recommended items, it will have a download icon instead of a cart icon.

Usually?  If it doesn't say it always, then there is a problem.  I recall shortly after the store update there were problems with some of my items not showing as purchased, AFAIR others had similar problems, but it appeared to be a sideeffect of another problem which seem to have been fixed now.

I don't think it's even been a REAL non-sale-counted-scare-situation, but I have encountered this feeling when....

    1. I wishlisted an item and thought I snagged it.

    2. I HAD an item in the cart, but looking at the total, I removed some of the items. Once I made the purchase, I don't always remember EXACTLY which items made the cut and which ones got cut with an "Add to Wishlist".

    3. I've loaded a cart and never did complete the purchase part and later on, checked the store and found items still loaded in my cart from the day before.- sometimes at full price from a missed flash sale. sad

    4. Sometimes I load the cart, but wait to see if anything else needs to jump in for an extra discount boost and...and I forget to come back......

    5. Somtimes I confuse similar items - where I did buy an "XYZ Outfit" and later saw a similar item and...and....thought it was the one I purchased.

    6. Also, some vendors sell the SAME item/product// for different generations of figures. I have 3 or 4 versions of the same exact hair product.

    7. Sometimes I buy the male/female version of an item and the other gender item arrives later. Confusing.

    8. Sometimes I confuse the add-on Texture set for the original.

    9. I've seen the same item in two different stores and gotten confused.

    10. I've bought a single item and been confused when I see it again, in a bundle. And vice versa.

I said usually because there are always store glitches and then there are different browser issues at times. Personally I have never purchased anything more than once and even if i did, there is always the return policy, so i don't even think twice about it.

I have due to being in pro bundles but usually the bundle been on sale so it evens out.

A couple annoying times I did buy something in a bundle I already owned only to wonder why it didn't appear in DIM but in the few cases it happened it was very cheap with other heavily discounted stuff to be not worth chasing up.
