daz3d.com shop search issue

Not sure where else to put this, so I'm putting it here.

I go to shop, and once there I enter   sketch   for the search word

The website promptly, every single time, gives me results for    stretch   . which isn't just one letter off, it's 2 AND the terms have nothing to do with each other.

Whoever is programing the website might want to look at this.

Good luck with that. I've been asking them to fix that for the longest time. I have put names of products from the marketplace in the search & got results for everything BUT what I wanted.

By the way, what specifically are you looking for? Perhaps someone can help you

The old search canvassed the product pages for the words searched. If I searched "sock," then EVERY product that had "sock" ANYWHERE on its product page would show up in the results. But now, ONLY products that have "sock" in the product NAME show up (or bundles containing one of those products).

That makes it much more difficult to find odds and ends in the store. Thus, shops with properly functioning search functions (like CGTrader or TurboSquid) are the recourse.

Does Turbosquid has daz3d models to search in? Try posercontent.com as additioinal search tool (no advertising here). Seems like it searches in titles and description.

These days, even searching with Bing is an adventure.

Sometimes Rendo vendors list Daz items in promos, but not the URL.  If I search the item with Bing, I will get an outdated result from the wiki that doesn't work, and then it's all results from, uh, "third-party" sites.   Bing results used to include results from daz3d.com product pages, but they don't anymore.  Google still shows daz3d.com product pages first.

Daz might want to look into this.  Some of us do prefer Edge over Chrome, and some people use search engines other than Google.

Thanks, @Victor_B! I check posercontent.com every day, but I've only ever searched for removed products. Your suggestion gave me lots of options. Thanks again!

New store = new search?  Be nice to think that if, for once, when it suggetsed an item name and you selected that it woudl actually find anything!

Yeah, the other thing that has started with the new store is that the "hide items I own" tick box doesn't always work when you uncheck it - most of the time your purchased items never show in a search result, but they do show if you browse a vendor's page and uncheck the box.

I just tried a google search for

    site:www.daz3d.com/shop/ sketch

It gives me a absolutely nothing found page ... maybe that is the reason why you don't get anything but stretch ?

Are you looking for a specific product?

Search for "sketch" auto redirects to https://www.daz3d.com/sketchy-toon-edge-and-art-style-shaders-for-iray (in Firefox). Because only one product was found, I guess.

or the author of this product (DimensionTheory) bought this search word and linked it to his product (joke).
