My city is in lockdown.  We aren't having Thanksgiving. No work until at least the end of lockdown. Money is going fast.  Get it while you can.

What city? Complete lockdown? Here in Los Angeles, we now have a 10PM curfew and only essential businesses open but outdoor restaurants and bars are still open. We never had outdoor bars before but we do now. But now they close at 10PM. I guess bars are essential here lol!

Most of Europe is in lockdown from what I've read.

Not a classical lockdown which we had in March, no ... the restaurants, cinemas and operas are closed but shops, offices and public transport remain open.

It depends where. Here shops which don't sell essential products are closed, and companies are encouraged to use remote work if possible so a lot of offices are too.

Yes, rules vary from country to country and not even states rules are consistent.

I noticed there's still a lot of traffic on the streets compared to March.

My doctor gave me 6 months of repeats on prescription tranquilizers 3-5 a day.  Liquior stores are closed.

Oh EXCUSE ME!  The government (of Ontario Canada) has decided that government owned liquor stores are an absolute necessity and will be open regular hours - even though everyone's doctors office is closed.

It is a big deal in medicine.  The fear is that if you shut down all access to alcohol (liquor stores and bars), alcoholics will start to go into withdrawl where they a) require emergency treatment to stressed emergency rooms to treat their withdrawl, b) drink toxic things like methanol or isopropyl alcohol requiring emergency treatment to stressed emergency rooms, or c) self medicate using harder drugs or drugs toxic to their liver like acetominophen thus requiring emergency treatment to stressed emergency rooms.

They're worried alchies will turn to Tylenol?

Aspirin  and  Tylenol causes stomachs to bleed (especially stomachs iritated by alcohol) or cause allergic reactions. Acetominophen is really hard on the liver.  Since my days working in a lab and acting as a control in alcohol research,  I fear the liver effects over anything else so I only use aspirin....

My days continue as they have for the past few years, but the apartment complex is emptying as the younger tenants are moving home with their parents or people are skipping out on their rent in the middle of the night. I am getting more requests to help with Food Bank donations and other charities. More families and single women are homeless now in Denver.

We are staying home for Thanksgiving dinner, instead of going to a friend's house, where he & his renter, who has his parents here for medical care live, and are inviting my friend's three adult children to join the dinner.

The store where my flatmate works, has been alerting the staff to people testing positive at a rate of 2 or 3 a day for the past few weeks. So far we are okay, but I am not taking a chance. If we are all lucky, there will be next year.

I hope everyone will be safe and however the holiday period is celebrated where you live, you are able to find a way to make is special in a new way.

Homeless ... That's one thing a family in Germany will likely never face. If you are out of jobs and money, you are entitled to state welfare, which includes paying the rent. Your landlord would have a very hard time convincing any judge that he can throw you out if you have a family (doesn't matter if it's children or elderly people you care for) , even if you owe him the rent for more than one month.

Well, the government here delivers the liquor to your home, so they don't need to open the stores.  The government is also the prime source of LEGAL cannabis which they also deliver.

I thought Daz3D prefered week long CyberMonday sales over Black Friday?

Well I'm taking advantage of the Black Friday sales on electronics so DAZ is going to be out of luck next week.

I hope Daz3D has more sales not entirely dependent on purchasing new releases. I don't buy a lot of human figures, accessories, tutorials or environments; just animals these days. I'm still debating on taking advantage of the Orangutan sale today... but the other stores have products I'm interested in, and one of them typically has a Black Friday weekend sale, so...
