Weight maps won't show up

Please help they just won't show up.  Updated my video drivers that didn't help.  Upgraded to 4.14 that didn't help.

Anything else I can do?

I applied a map to an item in 4.14 yesterday and it worked fine.

What exactly are you doing, step-by-step?

Normally it's create node, select node, and add map in the node weight map brush window if it doesn't exist.
