Agreed.  RIP and thanks for the memories Alex!  And condolances to his friends, family, and fans.

  • He always struck me as such a gentleman.

I'm glad his passage was peaceful.

He & that show were always so pleasant. Haven't watched for years though as almost all other programming that wasn't Jeopardy drifted so far away from that.

  • I just heard this. Jeopardy is where I learned to love Trivia. Such a great man. I loved how he never took himself too seriously. He turned a cancer diagnosis into something positive by getting out there and educating the public about pancreatic cancer and the improtance of early diagnosis. He will be sorely missed.

  • What is "Requiescat In Pace" for 1000, Alex?

I'm totally shattered by this. I've basically watched Jeopardy my entire life and Alex Trebek was basically a life long teacher for me, someone who I looked forward to hearing Mon - Friday and with reruns on Saturdays. No one can ever replace him as the paramount host of Jeopardy... I don't know what they're going to do but it will never be the same.

Alex and Howie Meeker both very sad losses for Canadians and everyone who enjoyed two men who knew how to convey their love of their subjects and of life.

He was a great tribute to Canada, it is sad that he has passed.  He will be missed by many. Condolences to his family and friends, and all who knew him through one of the best trivia games shows, Jeopardy.

..a great loss indeed for one of the best game shows ever created as it required real "smarts".
