Manami - strange promo

Does anyone know what this promo from the new Manami character is about?  The pictures are, apart from slightly different eye and mouth pose, identical except in the one to the right, the right eye/eyebrow and left side of the mouth are distorted, like edited with a brush or something in a graphics editor.

    My guess would be the artist made a version with and without postwork and wanted to show both, either to give the character more personality or just because they liked the picture. The second one looks kind of like it was done with the new Photoshop filter that changes facial expressions. A lot of the results I've gotten looked like that.

    Well it definitely doesn't look good, IMO.  Kobamax has always made both great products as well as great promos, so this seems totally out of context.

    I nearly posted about this myself but then moved onto other things and forgot. It looks like the one on the right has a scar on the upper lip and one of the eyes is strange, low poly? Really not sure what this was supposed to be showing us.

    The image on the left has something of a sympathetic look to her.  The image on the right looks like she has a bit of a smirk going on while she looks slightly away from the viewer.  It's such a subtle difference I would have preferred images with greater difference in expressions and profile.

    Yes, I thought it was meant to demonstrate something but there's no mention of anything of that kind and no immediately obvious explanation so hard to figure out what the reason is.

    My guess would be that Manami just wanted a thread named after her, a little conversation, and some mystery.

    My guess is that there might have been some feedback on how to improve the main promo and a quick photoshop job was used to show the kinds of changes recommended and it was accidentally added to the promos that went live. As the main promo for her appears to be similar to the photoshopped version, only rendered. 

    That would be my guess anyway, but only the artist would be able to say for sure.
