Step-by-Step Daz Studio upgrade

Maybe there is a thread for this already, but I was looking at the public beta this morning and bemoaning the fact that it is always an ordeal to use a new version of Daz Studio. I have my layout, content directories, theme, etc., set just the way I like it, and using the beta, or upgrading DS sometimes wipes everything out. Or at least some things, like custom actions.

I know there are scripts and utilities to back up some of those things, and themes and layouts can be saved, but I guess what I am looking to do is compile a step by step list.

For example, 1. Back up content database with [this script] [LINK]

2. Back up categories...

So basically I am looking for suggestions, what is your method or workflow? Then I can put them here below as a handy guide.

STEP-BY-STEP LIST FOLLOWS:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

  • I generally just install, everything is prserved. I do have back-ups of the database and of the settings, as part of my regular back up cycle, however.

Anything in particular you use to backup?
