dforce magnet question

 

What is the mechanism behind the "snapping", can it be done manually, e.g. by placing a tiny sphere around a single vertex? But I read intersections is not allowed with dforce..?

The dForce magnet creates a magnet vertex on top of a vertex in the dForce item.
