Less Chunkier Sobek?

Am really impressed by the bipedal crocodile character, but has anyone had success with mixing G8 shaping morphs to make him look less chunky and more slender/athletic? A tubbby crocodile probably has its various uses, but I'd like a healthier-looking version. :)

I have Carnomoloch, who I prefer to the new one :). He's still muscular, but not "chunky" as you say. LOL I'm not sure he's a crocodile per se, but he's close enough for me :)

You can make him somewhat slimmer (though he'll still look like he has a soft belly) using Genesis 8 Body Morphs. Though in the case of the attached example, I used Zev0 Body Mixers for even more control.

  • I adore Carnomoloch and need to use that one more!

Yeah, that was more or less what I was hoping for. Was actually wanting to compare both of those characters for fantasy era 'Warhammer' fan art, for the Lizardmen faction. Carnomoloch is a great Saurus, while the newest would be ideal for a Kroxigor if it could be made more slender. It still looks portly, rather than overtly muscular, but should pass well enough.

I'd really like one with a crocodilian head and properyl slender body, so that I could throw a G8 leather jacket on it for comical scenes, but this looks like a good start for stuff like that.

A slender bipedal shark would be great, too. I've got Raw Art's, but's also similarly chunky and doesn't allow for typical G8 torso clothing.

  • I apparently own Carnomoloch blush

I really need to use more of my DAZ content devil

I also thought Sobek was a bit too... attached to a sedentary lifestyle for my tastes, but I got the skins mostly to make reptiloid characters and I must say I really like the results. Still, the chunk of missing textures where the tail is attached is a bit of a downer, is there a chance we could get an add-on that solves the issue? I would pay for that, as the skins are gorgeous and I am also enjoying PhoenixFenix's add-on for Bulwark a lot.

Use the Pride Pack to make him a her. Sigh, yes I know the whole mammalian reptile thing, I blame naughty wizards.

I will definitely be getting Sobek, and I would also be very interested in a add-on that allows a slimmer body.  Need characters for some "Spaceport food court" images.

Just rationalize them as "courting sacs", which, in a way, is the reason human breast are shaped as they are.  They emulate the shape and symmetry of the posterior, but once we started to walk and stand erect, elevating our line of sight, nature provided another "marker" or "region of interest".

They're shaped the way they are for the easier feeding of young while in the arms... which is their function. It's mainly in western cultures that have hypersexualized the organs designed for the feeding of babies. Also, real and natural breasts look almost nothing like the "posterior".

As everything to do with evolutionary psychology, it's just a theory and there are cultural discrepancies regarding its universal validity, but claiming that Western culture is somehow special in sexualizing breasts couldn't be further from the truth. The fact is they are a marker for sexual maturity (in the biological sense, not the psychological or legal ones), really important erogenous zones (indeed, they can swell during sexual arousal), and prominently featured as signs of feminity, fertility, and sensuality in artworks from all over the globe and throughout history. They are as universal as anything can be, seeing as cultures can fetishize or demonize absolutely anything (the dietary requirements of a kosher diet make absolutely no sense from any biological standpoint, and are actively detrimental in many cases).

Also, the body can (and often does) evolve a thing to fulfill multiple requirements, so that one explanation doesn't invalidate another. The vocal cords primary function has nothing to do with communication and everything to do with breathing and protecting your airways, so having breasts being optimal for breastfeeding while also fulfilling every other stated role is perfectly plausible.

Thus, it is clear to me that the importance of breasts cannot be overstated, both culturally and physiologically, and having a fantastical reptilian species have them as an expression of sexual dimorphism makes perfect sense.

    Nipples are right out, though.

But in other mammals the breasts get full when they are feeding young ones and reduced when not feeding ... sorry, totally off topic ...

Many of the monsters on Daz are too goofy or cartoonish for my tastes, including Sobek. I don't hold it against the PAs - their style is their choice. But I prefer a somewhat more 'realistic' look (quotes because these are fantastic creatures, after all) and a more terrifying appearance in general.

I'd like to see more creatures in the style of Lycan HD, Giant Monster Spider, Aguja Mermaid and Alascanus Merman, Cthuloid, Wither, HH Wyvern, and Carnomoloch.
