Running a Mac 5.1 (Mid 2010) with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2 GB graphics Card.
OS is Mojave 10.14.6 with 16GB DDR3 memory.
I recently upgraded to this OS because the GPU wouldn’t work under High Sierra. I have down loaded the latest CUDA and driver from NVIDIA even though they are listed for OS 10.13. Which I might add refused to work for that OS. Try as I may I can’t get Studio to see this GPU. What Am I missing? I'm perfectly willing to buy a different card but can't help but wonder if that would be a useless expense.

Spitballing a touch from my last experience with a Mac: It may require you to monkey around a bit with the NVIDIA driver versions... I remember when I had my MBP (2012?), it took just the right driver version to make it behave so that DS would see it. Wish I could recall exactly what, but the MBP had a uber-crappy nVidia GPU version onboard.
Upgrading MacOS is the wrong direction. You need older versions for Nvidia drivers to work.
The reason I upgraded was precisely because the older version would not work.
Go further back.
What version of DS? It is a combo of X and Y that make me stuck where I am.
Thanks for all your help folks. I guess I'm stuck with CPU rendering.
You're not, actually. You can use Jack Tomalin's Iray server for a monthly fee, and there's nimbix that lets you pay as you go.
