daz 2 max issue to the point its unuseable

August 2020 in 3ds Max Discussion

my rig is a 3.4 8 core processor with 32 gigs of ram  an nvida quadro m4000 gfx card , so the issue is i load a gen 8 based character with no clothes or hair run daz to max script ( witch takes a long time)  then load max and use dazs to max  set it to convert to vray, that works fine, BUT i add hair and clothes and 1 the dzm takes over an hour to export then in max it gets part way through importing and throws up an out of memory error  crashes max then nearly cripples windows making d2m completely  useless.

what makes no sence is that just using the daz fbx export is fine, same set up makes a 40mb file, use the d2m the fbx is 1.8 gigs

i dought there is a fix but if there is any good ideas i would be most thankfull

the biggest issue here is the lack of support

it doesnt matter if you ask questions you will get no answers from the staff that really should know all about it.

or should we the users guess how to get this shit to work?

i tried 3ds max with G8F but its very limited

stick with daz 3d instead then we can only hope to get the V ray renderer  in the future ;)

im starting to think that is true, just using the fbx export works fine with corona it renders way faster than das, just need to wrap my head around the skin shader

This forum is user-to-user. If you want answer from Daz on an issue, open a support ticket.

For Corona use the Multi/Sub-Object material to avoid problems with sss.
