3ds Max Bridge - Am I missing something?

Reality HackReality Hack Posts: 111

Other people have reported success with this, but I'm still unable to get it to work properly, if at all. Definitely not what I'd refer to as acceptable. I followed the tutorial at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_yFR0DeQOc

For example, after it 'translates' the materials to Vray, I get this:

The face and lips are the only things that even look like they translated properly. The eyes obviously weren't translated properly, and neither was the torso, etc.
That, and the materials that did translate didn't really translate to much of anything. They're just generic Vray materials with a bump and texture map slapped on them.

And then there's this:

Still with the rubber-hosing on the imported figure. That's just unacceptable.

So again, unless I'm doing something completely wrong, no, it absolutely does not "neatly convert the functional rigging, polygons, textures and materials into 3ds Max." Not by a long shot. It's merely an automated version of their fbx exporter that was broken to begin with. If it weren't free to begin with (because they couldn't sell it, obviously) Daz would be dangerously close to false advertisement.

i only tried 3ds max with G8F fast before i throwed it in the trashcan.

but that looks exactly like you turn off base joint corrections for the G8F

so my guess is that this setting is not transfered.

but looking at your photos it looks like you aleready have turned it off in daz 3D?
