Quite.
But if the Tate gallery can spend a large sum of money on 30 grams of human poop, which they consider to be 'art', then nobody can tell me that my electronic doodles are not art. Except me, of course. I consider myself to be a wannabe artist.
Occasionally I post my pictures to the gallery, and sometimes some people like them. Not many, perhaps, and never enough to get my work into the top banner 'Hall of Fame', but the fact that someone has clicked the 'Like' button, or taken the time to post a comment, makes me feel good (art or not). So I'll continue doing these renders the way I do, using out of the box models, and what I do produce entirely by myself I'll continue to flush down the toilet.
There are many things that are not art but were claimed to be art by pretentious snots with delusions. Entirely blank canvases with a single dot of color. Covering fragile cultural landmarks with fabric without permits or any sort of study about how not to damage said landmarks that do millions in damage or, in one noteworthy example. irreparable damage.
Art of course is almost anything that someone calls art but when the artists only motivation is to extract money from the gullible then that is not art, sorry that is just the way that is. Also when art is just about stroking some fools oversized ego then again that is not art.
Like "The Art of the Deal"?
There's also an art of thread-locking, at which I am a master.
In order to do 3d art, you must (usually) have:
Modeling
Texturing
Materials/shaders
Rigging
Posing
Morphing/sculpting
Lighting
Camera work
Composition
Post-processing
Most professional pipelines have many people who do these things, and they may often used purchased assets to save time. Does that make them less of an artist or professional? No. Does it make you less of an artist to use purchased assets? No. Consider yourself to have really talented artists in your pipeline, because that's essentially what you have.
What characterizes a hack? Generally it refers to low-effort, uncreative and overly derivative work. Hack writing, for example, is predictable, formulaic and riddled with cliches. Does that sound like your work to you?
It would not surprise me at all. I am asked all the time what game I am using to make Karate Girl, even though I clearly state in each video that its created with Daz Studio. People are weird.
and comment post removal too.
I had a run in with youtube itself over a monetised video where they wanted to know what game it was from
I could not convince the person I communicated with it was not a game
I no longer monetise my stuff so not an issue anymore
apparently
it was to be fair made to look a bit like a game
it was quite a few years ago and I had a bunch of trolls continuously falsely reporting everything I uploaded, most were dismissed without any inputs needed from me but that one I scored a very difficult to communicate with person looking into it.
I could understand if it was because it mentioned the Drow and other Advanced Dungeons and Dragons themes but that was not the reason given
BTW Jaderail wrote the dialogue
a lot of my descriptions are missing from when I removed them all at once after having another video removed for a metadata violation because of my description
a rule I had never heard of
so I just removed every description from every video in a batch process replacing them with "none"
poor Diomede cannot upload Carrara tutorials as they are being flagged as phishing
How does that happen? There are thousands of tuts for most any 3D program you care to name. I don't think they get flagged.
I have no idea but everytime he tries they reject them and he could lose his channel
its a bot probably
Carrara is a city in Italy so not unique and lots of other products have it in their name (but I will blame Porsche's Carrera which often gets spelled wrong).
I think it is actually seeing the UI and assuming all videos of the same thing
Perhaps, unmade beds & detritus and other random assembleges of junk can be called art but it doesn't mean that it's not also that someone has figured out how to fleece sheep by handwaving and officiousness. Yet another example of "Wizard's First Rule".
I would say this is art even though its just a plastic Garden Owl with a Surgical Mask on. which I didn't make either of, I only placed the mask on the owl .Make Art!
Spray it with a couple of coats of protecitve lacquer and you're good either way. ;) I remember going into an art shop in Juarez, Mexico back when I was around nine and seeing a table covered with these amazing figures of frogs playing musical instruments... until I got close enough to see the stiches and realized they were real frogs that had been stuffed, posed and varnished. I didn't want one so much after that, but if that counts as art...
they do that with cane toads here
Which makes one wonder who would actually find anything about a cane toad attracitive...
It is cruel art probably. Disgusting instead of attracitive for me.
