Thanks for chiming in. Yes, it does appear to be a general issue with opacity and volumetric props. This is the basic atmospheric setup from Render Studio 2.0 with a Now-Crowd billboard by @RiverSoftArt
Oh, and hair is affected, as well.
Discouraging is certainly a good word, even if it is a bit of an understatement. I'll be submitting a ticket on this.

Thanks for submitting the support tickets on this guys. Let us know any updates you receive please....
Also, looks like people are having problems viewing my promo videos. I cannot use Youtube due to their overly strict copyright algorythms. Vimeo is no longer an option either, since they stopped allowing commerical content. So I have to find alternatives to host my videos. Looks like LBRY is not working out too well... will need to find another solution.

I make extensive use of YouTube's audio library myself to avoid such issues
I am having some difficulty with The Last Wave (https://www.daz3d.com/the-last-wave)... would this be another example of this issue with opacity and volumetric props? (please refer to attached image)
Also experienced something weird with Infinite Sands (https://www.daz3d.com/infinite-sands) earlier today which made it unusable so after much fiddling I gave up and had to use a different product for a desert landscape.
Please post about this in the Daz Studio discussion thread for the version you're using. I've made a couple of posts in the beta thread, already.
Thank you @sevrin ! First time I am venturing out of The Commons and New Users :D
Any update on the Iray issue with opacity?
Unfortunately not. And the opacity reduction workaround for hair doesn't work with the planes, either.
So it's been nearly 5 months then, huh?
It's an Iray issue, not something Daz can fix.
