Latest daz version breaks the skin of some characters?

Here I have Tara 2 and for some reason the face texture looks odd when I use her in 4.12.1.117.
In the beta it works. A similar thing happens with Michelle when I apply makeup https://www.daz3d.com/michelle-hd-for-genesis-8-female
So why is this happening? I thought the no multiple instances are supposed to make run daz better

This would not have anything to do with application instances, I suspect these are using special shaders rather than the default Iray Uber Base or it may be related to using the alpha from a PNG for masking. When you say it works in the beta do you mean 4.12.2.x? If so I'd say just use the beta for now, the issue has probably been fixed.
