Can we Skip Frames in Animation Renders?

So working with an animation, I found myself wanting to get a quick preview of camera movement, lighting etc, and would have liked to have a quick runthrough with, say, 1 frame out of 20 or 30, just to have a feel for how it would look and before rendering the whole thing out.
Is this possible to do without rendering each frame one-by-one?

change the framerate
and size too if want faster
Thanks a bunch. I thought that would just make for a slower movie in AVI mode, but this does exactly what I need.
