PNGs being auto-generated in render folder

SnowSultanSnowSultan Posts: 3,773

Ever since I installed the latest beta and public version, all renders that are saved are also saving a small .png thumbnail along with it, which has never happened to me in all the years I've been using Studio. Also strange is that they are regenerated every time I restart Windows, even if they're deleted or if I haven't used Studio since deleting them. Does anyone know if this is a setting that was added or needs adjusting in Studio? Thanks for any help.

Been there for many versions, not new. You will need to change the folder where it defaults the images to in the render settings I believe

That's been happening for me since I started using DS, which I think was 4.9. It never bothered me enough to find the setting responsible for it, so I can't help you there, but it's not a new thing.

On the bottom of the render pain, click on the icon that looks like a poloroid, and change it to a folder, then change the location. It will not generate icons there anymore. It always will generate them for any images in the render libraries locations, it's for displaying in the render library tab if you use it.

lol ...I know that's a typo but dang, after making a ton of promos and rendering out icons for a product over several days, I feel that "render pain". :P

Thanks, I must have accidentally changed the location to a Render library when I was trying to customize the general release version (I don't know why, I'll keep using the betas anyway). Will fix it soon, thanks again.

It's always created those mini-icons in the Render Library pane in my DAZ Studio as well. I've been rendering since 4.9 although I've had earlier versions of DS. There is a icon in the top right of the Render Library that lets you choose to displays assets in the Render Library as icons or just a text list with tiny icons.

Also any preset or scene I make gets an icon created too. Basically, anything but scripts.
