Which software to use for Animation

Hello friends,
I have been using DAZ Studio for some years now. I have used it to generate static images mostly. I would like to create small animated movies now. May I know which software is the best to use with DAZ so that I dont have to work on character creation, clothing, environment etc. I have seen some similar posts but they are almost 5-6 years back. I want to know what is best in the current world.
Animating in DAZ takes a lot of time. I heard iClone renders animations very fast. I am trying to create some animated clips like the Witcher game cut scenes. Witcher because it has good external and internal lighting references. I dont want it to be extreme realistic, but would love it to be a little better looking.
Thanks!!

well you can still use DAZ studio if you are willing to take some shortcuts and do compositing
certainly iClone does game style renders, so do game engines like Unreal and Unity and they are free,
it really comes down to how much you want to spend versus how much work you want to put in optimizing your characters for fast rendering
I say that as an iC6 user too among other softwares including Carrara and UE4
Thanks for the reply. I saw few videos on your channel. I would like to create scenes and characters like those in your RETROGRADE video. May I know how much time it took and what engines did you use?
I am fairly new to compositing. I have some video editing skills though.
Thanks!
well that particular one was in Carrara using the Octane render plugin and Xurge outfits on Victoria and Michael 2,3&4!
not a genesis in sight
it didn't take terribly long but Octane is not cheap, there is no free one for Carrara
you could plausibly do that in DAZ studio with the free tier though, I just prefer Carrara as a long time user of it.
The point is you can fit a lot more legacy Poser figures in a scene than any genesis figures because they use a lot of RAM, not just VRAM I can only render 2 or 3 genesis1;2:3&8 at the most on my PC and then CPU not GPU
compositing you only need render one at a time as a png series with alpha
then you put your scene together in your video editor
okay okay, thanks for the detailed explanation.
Can Unreal Engine help me in environment creation and light setup?
depends entirely on how skilled you are,
people with coding skills do the most incredible stuff with it
people like me retarget a Genesis 8 figure to the mannequin skeleton and run around free marketplace sets in third person player mode
add physics to stuff and kick it around sometimes too
this looks good. I am not a programmer. I will give UE a try.
